Reviews for The Stafford London

Charming, elegan,t and oh so welcoming

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at The Stafford. We were warmly greeted, offered a quick tour of the hotel, and offered a complimentary beverage in the salon. The hotel exudes charm, which we really appreciated, and the service is impeccable. There are so many wonderful restaurants, museums, parks, and shops (!) within walking distance. We hope to be back soon.

Excellent Option for Exploring London!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

My wife and I recently spent seven wonderful nights at the Stafford Hotel. The location was perfect for exploring London, whether by foot or the Underground. The hotel is located on a quiet side street, but has direct access to The Green Park via Queen's Passage, which felt somewhat like a secret entrance! There is also an Underground station located a short walk from the hotel. The hotel contains two options for dining, both of which were outstanding. The American Bar provides a lively and fun atmosphere, with an excellent cocktail menu. The Game Bird is more of a fine dining restaurant, and featured the best Beef Wellington we have ever tasted! It is a good idea to make reservations at either restaurant, as both were quite busy. We really appreciated the knowledge and excellent customer service of the hotel staff, particularly the concierge and dining teams.

Luxury in the heart of London!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We had walked past The Stafford many times during previous visits to London, but are so happy that we finally made a reservation and stayed there this trip (four nights). The location in St. James is perfect for sightseeing—there is a tube stop nearby and many venues are easily walkable. The hotel is old, but has been carefully kept. Rooms are immaculate; the bathrooms are particularly nice. Staff is very attentive to every need. We did not eat in the hotel, as our habit is to explore local dining, so we cannot comment on the hotel restaurants. We were very pleased with our stay and will most definitely return!

Excellent experience orchestrated by Gianluca.

Called in for Saturday lunch while passing. A very impressive hotel in a very quiet location in St James. Beautiful courtyard dining bedecked by flowers. A very warm welcome and excellent service from Gianluca and his team. Food and wine both top notch.

A sunny weekend break

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

A shopping weekend. We’d planned to go up to London on the Saturday for nearby shopping and whenever up we always use the bar. A quick trip on the train moved to become a two night stay instead, booking the main house, second floor and overlooking the courtyard/bar (room 217). No noise can be heard from in the room though and aircon was working well. The bar staff team are a good bunch, alas I’m useless with names apart from Viviana who is just lovely and very welcoming to us. We particularly like using the courtyard in the sun which thankfully occurred a number of times. I tried some different lunch nibbles from the snacks menu, the crispy scampi were a particular delight. Meanwhile the wife opted for her normal order of mac and cheese. The courtyard is certainly under pressure when the sun is out and given it’s location and space this surprising. Breakfast was a little delayed on the first morning as it was busy but we were in no rush and I took a full english with omelet instead of fried or scrambled eggs. It was cooked splendidly, the second day I went with a smoked salmon bagel which is heaven to me. Staff all good. The lift was fast, but the old lift shaft has added charm. Not a cheap option, but this isn’t a cheap part of town and for us is perfectly located. The staff in general are a great team. This was only the second time we had actually stayed as residents although we use that bar area more frequently. A return is assured.

It's all about the staff at The Stafford! My favorite hotel in London and probably in the world! If you can't stay there stop by the bar...not to be missed. Look it up when you're there.

My cousin and I had the most fabulous trip! The Stafford London was the most perfect, wonderful hotel, and we could not be any happier!

The staff was amazing, and yes, please let Alan and Nick know how much they helped us, as this was my very first trip to London!

We so appreciated the perks, and enjoyed the wine in our room!
