A 19th-century beauty meets the London of today: that’s what you’ll find at Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. From the outside, the landmark building, which occupies a full block along the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury, looks every bit the part of grande dame. Inside, though, contemporary interiors beckon the discerning traveler to settle in and stay a while—Negroni (or two) in hand. Live like a Londoner on Russell Square. With one foot in the city’s past and another in its present, our Bloomsbury location combines British creative heritage with modern amenities.Presiding gracefully over Russell Square, with a stylish restaurant, Champagne and afternoon tea lounge, a cafe, destination cocktail bar and gym, our 334-room hotel turns every event into a memorable occasion. With a nod to 20s glamour and British irreverence, such as the Kit Miles cushions depicting our resident dragon, Lucky George, each luxuriously styled bedroom by Tara Bernerd & Partners beautifully reflects the rich history of our iconic hotel. Uniquely Kimpton in-room extras include a mug featuring George the dragon and yoga mat to help you feel at home.

We had a wonderful stay at this incredibly beautiful hotel. From long before we arrived, the hotel did an amazing job communicating with us, inquiring about special wishes and needs. Servce was great, room was spacious and the bathroom was to die for (thank you for the design inspiration). Especially in London, in July, it would be easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle transient tourist craziness of London Hotel life, to not pay individual attention to every guest's need and take a uniform approach to everyone's service needs. NOT at the Kimpton Fitzroy London, they truly catered to your individual needs, created a memorable experience and we can't wait to come back! THANK YOU to your entire team for making our trip to London a special one!

We stayed at the Kimpton Fitzroy London from July 1 to 7, and it is truly one of the most visually stunning hotels we’ve seen. We are Kimpton loyalists and so we were delighted to discover they had such an amazing hotel in London. The building is spectacular, full of history and character, and the Russell Square location is ideal. It’s central, peaceful, and just blocks from Euston Station if you're traveling by train. Our room was beautifully appointed. The layout included a small entry foyer that gave a sense of privacy and calm. The furnishings, color scheme, linens, closet space, and overall aesthetic were all beautiful. Best of all was the bathroom, which was large and luxurious, and the evening turndown service was a lovely touch. It felt like a proper five-star experience in so many ways. We did, however, have ongoing issues with the air conditioning, which never quite worked as it should. The hotel staff were incredibly responsive and did their absolute best to help, but the problem persisted. Unfortunately, during one of the repair visits, a member of the maintenance team damaged a pair of my trousers. I won’t go into every detail, but I want to acknowledge how incredible Lottie was in helping resolve the situation. She followed up frequently, offered multiple solutions, and truly turned an irritating moment into something manageable. Ultimately, while the AC issue wasn't ever fully resolved, the issue with my trousers was, and I truly appreciated the hotel's ongoing efforts. While the rooms are stunning, the hallways between them felt oddly bland. Compared to the beautiful spaces near the elevators, the rooms, and the public areas, the corridors lacked warmth or design. Some paneling or artwork would go a long way in making them feel more aligned with the rest of the property. The staff were truly excellent throughout our stay. I interacted most with Lottie and Shirin, and both stood out for their professionalism and kindness. Lottie remembered previous conversations and made a point to check in. Shirin worked with me to explore alternative room options due to the AC issue. Their attention and care really elevated our experience and was, truly, appreciated. We ate at the hotel restaurant one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent, the space beautiful, and the staff were wonderful. Each morning we were able to take advantage of the complimentary coffee and pastries in the lobby, which was a great touch. Bikes were also available, though we didn't utilize them. Also, and this is a real treat for us, like all Kimptons this hotel is dog friendly, YAY!! One of the real highlights of the property is Fitz’s Bar and the adjoining Parlor. The setting is stunning and perfect for hotel's Social Hour or a late evening cocktail. That said, there are two things worth noting. First, Social Hour does not follow the usual Kimpton model of free-flowing drinks for an hour. Instead, it is one complimentary drink per person, and this is not made clear on the hotel website (I do hope they update this to make their policy more transparent). Second, the live music during our visit felt mismatched to the setting. The bar has an elegant, moody, luxurious vibe that would suit jazz or ambient acoustic music. Instead, there was a pub-style guitarist taking audience requests, which completely undercut the atmosphere. It felt out of place in an otherwise refined and polished environment. All that said, this is still a wonderful hotel. With its breathtaking building, beautifully designed rooms, fantastic staff, and welcoming atmosphere, it left a strong impression. With a few refinements, it could easily go from excellent to unforgettable.

Booked using Amex Hotel Collections, had 3rd night complementary stay. No upgrades available unfortunately. Booked snug room, which I underestimated how small the room was. Breakfast was great. Enjoyed the 5-6pm free drinks social hour. Location is great near the train station. Had gym which is well equipped. I also had pocket threads on my suit needing cutting which Angela Kwandahor from guest relations cut with precision. If there are any further offers, good place to stay but be careful of booking the snug room as it is really small. Still have 2 more nights to go

The rooms are cozy, clean, and comfortable. Service was good, and the breakfast was pretty decent as well. However, I did experience one issue: my flight was delayed, and I arrived at 3:10 AM to find the front door locked. I rang the bell for quite a while before the night concierge finally woke up and let me in. He wasn’t able to check me in at that hour, so he used his own key to open my room and asked me to complete the check-in at the reception in the morning. One quirky detail: there were two small bottles of "semi-skimmed cow’s milk" in the fridge – which was unexpected.

Of all the kimptons that I have stayed (including the paris st honour), this building was the more spectacular. It’s historic, charming and opulent. The bar is just A plus and the service (including the lovely concierge) was perfect. The rooms - beware that there is a huge variety of sizes and configurations and some are just so small with twin beds that the average luxury traveller may not realize is even possible. My first room was a queen bed and had everything I needed but was incredibly compact, the second time i stayed was a superior room (or some sort of upgrade) and it was significantly more comfortable. I was travelling alone for work but if staying in a couple, I would definitely pay special attention to the room size when booking if important to you! Would stay again because loved the overall hotel - that said, london room sizes are generally small but these were tight.
