A 19th-century beauty meets the London of today: that’s what you’ll find at Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. From the outside, the landmark building, which occupies a full block along the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury, looks every bit the part of grande dame. Inside, though, contemporary interiors beckon the discerning traveler to settle in and stay a while—Negroni (or two) in hand. Live like a Londoner on Russell Square. With one foot in the city’s past and another in its present, our Bloomsbury location combines British creative heritage with modern amenities.Presiding gracefully over Russell Square, with a stylish restaurant, Champagne and afternoon tea lounge, a cafe, destination cocktail bar and gym, our 334-room hotel turns every event into a memorable occasion. With a nod to 20s glamour and British irreverence, such as the Kit Miles cushions depicting our resident dragon, Lucky George, each luxuriously styled bedroom by Tara Bernerd & Partners beautifully reflects the rich history of our iconic hotel. Uniquely Kimpton in-room extras include a mug featuring George the dragon and yoga mat to help you feel at home.

A beautiful hotel in a lovely location. The biggest disappointment was that there were functions on in the ballroom on both nights that we stayed. We weren’t informed of this and when we came back to the room, you could hear the music so loudly even though we were on the 3rd floor and it went on well after midnight. My partner went down to reception at one point to ask if they had any earplugs because we couldn’t sleep, they said no. When asked what time it would be finishing he said 11.15pm, but like I said it went on far later than that. It really has dampened my experience, and has made me have second thoughts about booking again.

We have stayed at this luxurious hotel in November 2025 and lovec it so much stayed in February 2026 . A very big thank you to Rosemary in guest services who was absolutely fantastic with our booking. Nothing was too much trouble and she always kept in touch. From when ws first booked until our arrival Rosemary thought of everything to make our stay extra special. She is amazing and a credit to your hotel. To all the people looking to book a hotel in London do not waste your time and book the Fitzroy, everyone will make you feel so special . Oh and the rooms and bars are exceptional

I rarely write negative reviews, but our stay at Kimpton Fitzroy (Jan 13–20) warrants one. We arrived exhausted from an overnight flight, soaking wet, and had to wait FOUR HOURS to check in. Four hours sitting in the lobby in wet clothes. Then, a sentimental diamond necklace — irreplaceable to me — went missing from our room. One concierge kindly looked into it, but after that? Silence. No call from management. No real follow-up. Nothing. We were left to simply accept that something precious to us was gone, with no accountability from the hotel whatsoever. And when we asked to extend our stay, we were told to go book it ourselves online. At a luxury hotel. Unbelievable. The individual staff members were pleasant, but pleasantness is not the same as care. We felt let down at every turn. This was the start of a five-week trip and Kimpton Fitzroy managed to cast a shadow over all of it. Truly disappointed. I sent four emails to the assistant to the general manager, just to follow up before writing a review. I got zero response.

Stayed here last weekend for my wife’s birthday along with one of our daughters and her fiancée. Great choice! We had told them in advance that it was my wife’s birthday and we were upgraded to a superb room . When we arrived at the room there was a lovely note welcoming us and a beautiful cake for my wife’s birthday. We arrived early as my wife and daughter were going to an afternoon show but they made one room available immediately and placed all our cases in that room until the other was ready. We had dinner in the hotel as we wanted to relax totally and had a well cooked meal from a wide choice . There was a mix up with our main courses which was acknowledged immediately. The staff apologised and ensured we were completely satisfied by being attentive and pleasant. After our meal we were told that the extras we had ordered, plus our deserts and coffees would not be added to the bill! Breakfast in the morning was fabulous. Lots of choice , great service and really nicely cooked. I am coeliac and my gluten free toast was really good , many hotels don’t toast gluten free bread properly, but here it was done to perfection! Additionally, I was able to have it with real honey! I was also offered gluten free cereal and porridge All staff we came in contact with from the doorman , reception, restaurants and concierge were professional, efficient and totally pleasant throughout our stay
