About the Hotel

A 19th-century beauty meets the London of today: that’s what you’ll find at Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. From the outside, the landmark building, which occupies a full block along the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury, looks every bit the part of grande dame. Inside, though, contemporary interiors beckon the discerning traveler to settle in and stay a while—Negroni (or two) in hand. Live like a Londoner on Russell Square. With one foot in the city’s past and another in its present, our Bloomsbury location combines British creative heritage with modern amenities.Presiding gracefully over Russell Square, with a stylish restaurant, Champagne and afternoon tea lounge, a cafe, destination cocktail bar and gym, our 334-room hotel turns every event into a memorable occasion. With a nod to 20s glamour and British irreverence, such as the Kit Miles cushions depicting our resident dragon, Lucky George, each luxuriously styled bedroom by Tara Bernerd & Partners beautifully reflects the rich history of our iconic hotel. Uniquely Kimpton in-room extras include a mug featuring George the dragon and yoga mat to help you feel at home.

Reviews for Kimpton Fitzroy London

Don't stay here

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I recently made a reservation through the Chase Edit program, but unfortunately, the front desk staff seemed unfamiliar with it. I received only a portion of the expected benefits and had to talk with multiple associates to obtain even those. Therefore, I am unable to recommend this hotel.

Everything is fantastic

Beautiful hotel. Superb location close to so many parks ( small and more well known), museums, art galleries, cafes, restaurants. All of the staff are fantastic- not inly do their jobs well but take time to chat and share interesting “ insider tips” for the hotel and area. As examples, the maintenance man, who spoke of the horse hospital and Rahul, who chatted about Sir John Soame’s museum. Gems.

Beautiful hotel underwhelming room and treatment of diamond elite members

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Currently staying at the Kimpton Fitzroy and I have to say I had very high expectations but have been underwhelmed in certain areas. We visit London at least 4 times a year and have stayed in Marleybone for the past ten years. Decided to try the Fitzroy as we love so many of the Kiptoms we have stayed in. The building is beautiful and impressive with much history and many places to just sit, relax and take it in. The restaurant ( both breakfast and dinner )was excellent both food and service. Delicious food attentive staff. The bars were also lovely, great cocktails and atmosphere for both businesses meetings and pre/post meal drinks. The rooms… we have stayed in many rooms in NYC, London,Italy etc never have I been in such a small room. There is no where to place your suitcase to open, sit to work on a computer when you are both present in the room etc. first time ever we were not offered an upgrade as Diamond elite members. When I asked it was simply no not available. I guess since I’m not an “influencer “ there was no availability. The mattress is horrible, lumpy and we actually roll into the middle when we both lie down. We mentioned it to staff and nothing. Again beautiful hotel but I will take my business elsewhere next time.

Weekend in London

Stayed for two nights at the start of September while attending a concert. Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Coctails in the bar were nice, and social hour was a nice touch. Rooms pretty small tho.
