A 19th-century beauty meets the London of today: that’s what you’ll find at Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. From the outside, the landmark building, which occupies a full block along the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury, looks every bit the part of grande dame. Inside, though, contemporary interiors beckon the discerning traveler to settle in and stay a while—Negroni (or two) in hand. Live like a Londoner on Russell Square. With one foot in the city’s past and another in its present, our Bloomsbury location combines British creative heritage with modern amenities.Presiding gracefully over Russell Square, with a stylish restaurant, Champagne and afternoon tea lounge, a cafe, destination cocktail bar and gym, our 334-room hotel turns every event into a memorable occasion. With a nod to 20s glamour and British irreverence, such as the Kit Miles cushions depicting our resident dragon, Lucky George, each luxuriously styled bedroom by Tara Bernerd & Partners beautifully reflects the rich history of our iconic hotel. Uniquely Kimpton in-room extras include a mug featuring George the dragon and yoga mat to help you feel at home.

Here for a funeral and was presented with a city single room at the astronomical price of a sleeper room- the room booked. Wanted a cup of tea after a terrible day and was informed that as the bar had turned off their machine 5 minutes before I could not have one. Asked for my aircon to be looked at and was told to try putting it on cold. NOT a 5 star hotel and won’t be back

From the moment you arrive your worries and problems are simply forgotten as the team ensure that everything is taken care of. The check-in procedure was quick, efficient but more importantly friendly, we really felt that the team wanted us to enjoy the stay. Onto the room and we were lucky to receive an upgrade to a Junior Suite, which was not at all junior, in fact it was simply perfect. Again, little touches, like a hand-written welcome note from the General Manager demonstrated that the team was determined that all guests enjoy their time. Time for a couple of cocktails before we went out, the newly appointed bar teleports you into a world of quite luxury - Mojito's were top notch. Again, the team took time to be inquisitive without being nosey offering a few suggestions for things to do if we had time. Breakfast the following morning certainly sets you up for the day ahead and the journey home. Spoilt for choice the quality was top notch, again nothing was too much trouble for the attentive team on duty. All in all a simply wonderful stay, fantastic hotel and a team fit for anywhere a real please to have been there.

There is always a warm welcome at the Kimpton. A great range of room types depending on your budget, put each offering a very high end product. The happy hour is a Nice touch. Great location, away from the crowds, however still central to all of the London sights.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Kimpton Fitzroy, I had an excellent room with a nice view of the park. The room was spotless and very clean and the bed very comfortable, really nice bath and a fantastic shower. The breakfast offering was fair for the price with the buffet or paying a small addition for some extra items. Loved the location of the hotel, very short walk to Soho.

My wife and I recently stayed at the KImpton Fitzroy. It is located on Russell Square in the Bloomsbury area of London, 200 feet away from a tube stop, less than a 10 minute walk to the British museum, and within a 25 minute walk to most of the theaters in the West End. We are from the USA, and stay there twice a year when we are visiting our daughter who lives in London. As usual, we had a fantastic time there. Arrived at 11 PM, check in was flawless, and we went to our King Bed Junior Park View Suite, which is a great room. Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent, with many choices to pick from, both on the buffet and ala carte. Being a Kimpton, they have complimentary coffee out at reception every morning for several hours, and they even have fresh pastries to get your day started right. They also have an evening social hour, with your choice of wine or beer. Marco Russo, Concierge Supervisor, was very helpful during our stay, Ana in reservations did a great job arranging rooms for our next stay, when the app showed no availability, and Jack in the bellhop role was as friendly as ever. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting London.
