A 19th-century beauty meets the London of today: that’s what you’ll find at Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. From the outside, the landmark building, which occupies a full block along the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury, looks every bit the part of grande dame. Inside, though, contemporary interiors beckon the discerning traveler to settle in and stay a while—Negroni (or two) in hand. Live like a Londoner on Russell Square. With one foot in the city’s past and another in its present, our Bloomsbury location combines British creative heritage with modern amenities.Presiding gracefully over Russell Square, with a stylish restaurant, Champagne and afternoon tea lounge, a cafe, destination cocktail bar and gym, our 334-room hotel turns every event into a memorable occasion. With a nod to 20s glamour and British irreverence, such as the Kit Miles cushions depicting our resident dragon, Lucky George, each luxuriously styled bedroom by Tara Bernerd & Partners beautifully reflects the rich history of our iconic hotel. Uniquely Kimpton in-room extras include a mug featuring George the dragon and yoga mat to help you feel at home.

We had stayed here last year and fell in love with the hotel, so we knew it was the perfect place to stay for when we eloped. The building and every area around you is absolutely incredible and the rooms never disappoint, you couldn’t ask for more! Clean, luxurious, and welcoming! The staff are not only accommodating and always ready to assist, they are genuinely kind and warm people. They stop you for conversation and remember details that make each person feel like they’re the most important guest to walk through those doors. Any needs or inquiries we had were taken care of, they go above and beyond! At one point during our stay I had a few questions regarding random items that I figured weren’t readily available, but asked about just in case I was wrong. While that assumption was correct and I was happy to carry on, they offered to still seek these out and ask management for us. I declined, beyond grateful for their offer, but nothing was a dire need. I was blown away when Sean, our concierge, had surprised me with one of these items after the fact. I don’t think he knew how much that meant to me. I wasn’t able to thank him before we checked out, but the generosity and extra care he gave (as well as so many others too!) is beyond appreciated, we will forever be grateful to the staff for a memorable trip and honored to have stayed at such an iconic location!

I visited the hotel with my partner and our dog as a treat for my birthday. We had a suite overlooking Russell Square. The living area was small, but perfectly formed with a separate toilet off this area. There was a well stocked mini bar, a Nespresso machine, however the tea offering was a bit meagre. The bedroom was not huge, but filled with light and the bedroom was super comfy. Black out curtains made the nights sleep amazing. I presume for safety reasons, we couldn’t access the balcony. The bathroom was well appointed with beautiful walking shower, double sinks and an amazing roll top bath. Prior to dinner we attended The Parlour and were served free wine. We ate in Fitzs Brasserie on Saturday night, service and food was excellent. Breakfast was fresh with lots of choices hot and cold, buffet or to order. We also had Sunday lunch in Fitzs, although this was a little disappointing, the chicken was not sliced chicken, it was more like a schnitzel. The staff did make my birthday amazing, card and cake in the room and cake and birthday message/card at dinner and lunch. Because everything else was amazing we can forgive the average Sunday roast. We would definitely return another time.

The whole stay was utterly amazing, easy check in, the room was fabulous, clean, spacious, packed full of goodies! The restaurant was stylish, and elegant and the food was beautiful (highly recommend the pie!) the hotel itself is stunning, and seeing lucky George was a huge bonus for this Titanic nerd. Also, a huge shoutout to Jack in the reception area, thank you for your warm greeting and taking the time to chat to the Double A’s! Your genuine interest and enthusiasm made a difference to the stay.

What a wonderful experience! The hotel is the perfect blend of old world charm with modern and even slightly edgy amenities. Wonderful staff (thank you Rahul), food, atmosphere and location.

Best hotel gym I have found in Central London. Basement location. Full power rack, full dumbbell setup, cable machine and a selection of exercise machines (bicep curl, shoulder press, etc.) Plenty of treadmills and other cardio equipment. Free waters always well stocked. Fresh apples.
