A 19th-century beauty meets the London of today: that’s what you’ll find at Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. From the outside, the landmark building, which occupies a full block along the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury, looks every bit the part of grande dame. Inside, though, contemporary interiors beckon the discerning traveler to settle in and stay a while—Negroni (or two) in hand. Live like a Londoner on Russell Square. With one foot in the city’s past and another in its present, our Bloomsbury location combines British creative heritage with modern amenities.Presiding gracefully over Russell Square, with a stylish restaurant, Champagne and afternoon tea lounge, a cafe, destination cocktail bar and gym, our 334-room hotel turns every event into a memorable occasion. With a nod to 20s glamour and British irreverence, such as the Kit Miles cushions depicting our resident dragon, Lucky George, each luxuriously styled bedroom by Tara Bernerd & Partners beautifully reflects the rich history of our iconic hotel. Uniquely Kimpton in-room extras include a mug featuring George the dragon and yoga mat to help you feel at home.

My sisters and I had a wonderful trip to the Kimpton Fitzroy. It was a beautiful hotel with wonderful people, in a great location. Brittany from Guest Services was so helpful and made our stay so special. We really appreciated the conceirge team as well as they had great recommendations and it all truly led to a wonderful time and we can’t wait to return!

We were very impressed with the quality of the hotel given the deal we were able to get. Our room was clean and modern with charming period touches. The general historic charm of the building really elevated the experience. (Make sure you go and visit Lucky George!) We had a bit of a later check-in than expected due to the hotel being fully booked on arrival. But the staff were friendly and helpful and gave the us some complimentary drinks vouchers, so we could kill time at the bar while we waited. We also had an issue with house keeping forgetting to replace pie towels after servicing our room on our last night and, despite being late, the main desk was able to sort us out with replacements. All in all I’d recommend!!

They don't build hotels like this anymore. The Fitzroy seduced me with its stunning marble interior — hallways, staircases, and more. So beautiful with well-appointed rooms. The staff was professional and helped me find a room that was quieter. That was the only hiccup all week. It's also right on Russell Square and just a 10-minute walk to the British Museum and 2-minute walk to the Tube.

Wow, this hotel did not disappoint, delivering well above expectation. From the moment we arrived the iconic grade II listed building impressed with fascinating architecture and exuding character and history. Look out for the interesting ties to the Titanic!! Why had we not stayed here before? Well the answer is simple: location. On paper it appears to be off the beaten track, how wrong we were, in reality it is perfectly located for everything, especially if you prefer to explore London above ground. If not, there's a tube station almost next door. Our room was modern, yet retained character and was absolutely spotless, the building as already mentioned is amazing and the biggest win for this hotel, without question, their staff. We were greeted and checked-in by Abbey, who made us feel incredibly welcome from the get go; there was no five star attitude here! As we settled in and moved around the hotel it was obvious that the entire team were customer focussed. Everyone greeted us, from maintenance passing by on the stairs, to housekeeping in the corridors, and of course front of house and the breakfast team in the Fitz's Brasserie. During our stay the hotel was at full occupancy, this meant that breakfast was busy. Unlike many hotels, this noticeably did not compromise the level of service. The team were attentive, the buffet was excellent with everything topped up and fresh. A special mention goes to Monica and her breakfast team who were outstanding. In summary, this is a great London hotel not to be overlooked as we did for many years.

Stayed at the Kimpton over the weekend. What a fantastic hotel. The staff are wonderful and could not do enough for you, a big shout out to the porters who were so helpful (it was so hot, not sure how they did it) despite the heat they were doing everything with a smile. Breakfast was lovely, lots to choose from and again the staff were super friendly. The staff everywhere are a credit to the hotel. Our room was out of this world, paid extra to up grade to a Park view studio, well worth it, lots of space and the best bathroom I have had in London. Bed was very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Loved the real plants in the room. Defiantly would recommend a stay at the Kimpton.
