The Londoner Hotel

A fantastic stay from start to finish. The Londoner is calm, stylish and impeccably designed, offering a real sense of escape despite its central location. The rooms are beautifully finished and quiet, the facilities are excellent (especially the pool/spa), and the staff are warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming. A perfect base for exploring London, we will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it.

Incredible stay! We loved everything about this hotel. The service and staff were brilliant, we stayed for 2 nights and the only fault I can say was the fact that the rooftop bar was closed which we found out at check in and I was so disappointed as I wanted to visit but we loved the hotel and will most certainly return. We also used the spa facilities and had a full body treatment and really enjoyed it, I was a little surprised to be in a joint room with a friend as I hadn’t been told at booking we would be in the same treatment room but we didn’t mind however some guests might. The breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and the staff were really attentive. The rooms were perfect everything you need a touch of luxury and plenty of space.

This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. It is not. There are certain standards for a 5 star hotel that this place does not have. I'll start with the things that were good. The shower was great, the tiles in the bathroom were beautiful, that was about it for me. My husband and I were there for one week. It looks like they are selling perfume in the lobby, and the main floor reeks of this awful stuff, and it was pretty strong. Inside the room, you have to be careful walking around the bed or you're going to crack your shins on it. The rooms are very narrow and small. In the bathroom, or the area where the sink is, there is not enough room on the counter for your toiletries. So I moved the tray they had on it to the small table in the room. The one day they cleaned the room they pushed my stuff to the side to put back the tray. The bathroom has those large communal q-tips, lotions, shampoo and conditioners etc. Not the greatest quality but also, how do they not know that this is the worst for bacteria with every stranger sharing it? No where in the room is a good place to see what you're doing to dry your hair or put makeup on. The towels and robes were the same as any other 3 star hotel, the feather duvet was old and super flat, you could see where the feathers were stuck inside. We were surprised when our room was not cleaned the second day, we saw on the TV that we could select room cleaning and laundry so we did that. The next day nothing happened. A woman came to the door to ask if the room was clean and I said no, asked her how we were supposed to request it and get our laundry cleaned, she did not know and her English was not great, not sure if she understood me. So we asked at reception and were told that they do not clean the rooms unless requested. We had garbage piling up. So the next day they clean the room, give us our clean laundry but forget to give a laundry bag back. I tried to take a 30 minute nap later that day because of jet lag and someone knocked right in the middle of it. There was a man asking me if the room had been cleaned. WHAT? Breakfast was a set £35 regardless what you had so we just had a cup of coffee, they would not let us into the dining room for this so we sat in the lounge, the coffee was great but served in a small tea cup and they charged us almost $13CAD each. The woman who served us was mad at us somehow and was behaving like she was doing us a favour. There was a small fridge in the room but it was crammed full of things they wanted you to buy, so no room for you to put anything in. One morning I was in the room partially dressed and all of a sudden there were two men outside my window washing it. When I called reception twice, I let it ring and ring and no one answered, I called the manager line and told them what happened, asking them if they had a policy to notify guests of this sort of thing. I got a call back saying they put a letter under your door 24 hours before but someone had made a mistake and would I like some chocolate? That seemed to be their go to every time something got messed up, they tried to give us chocolates. I did read other reviews and saw that they sometimes put extra things on your bill, when we left and looked at it, they had charged £25 for a phone charger that they said we had ordered the night before we left. We had not, we'd brought our own. A guy (not sure who he was) came over and asked us a few times if we were sure we hadn't ordered it. They took the charge off. It was a week long s**t show. I will never go back here, not nearly worth what they are charging.
