Reviews for The Londoner Hotel

Wanted to love this place.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Wanted to love this hotel. Unfortunately the rooms seem to have been designed by someone who doesn’t stay at hotels. The rooms are small and there’s no separate bathroom. There’s a sink in the room that is at a low height for an average person (I’m 5’6”). There’s very little sink space for a woman’s products, there’s no where to plug in a blow dryer or curling iron or flat iron, there are no hooks for wet towels. I had to plug in hair appliances and do my hair at my night table. On each side of the sink there’s a glass door. One leads to a shower / tub and the other leads to a fancy toilet with heated seat which I really loved. Our minibar was completely empty when we checked in and it stayed that way until the first two days. They only have beverages in the mini bar (no snacks) and it was not refilled after we used some of the beverages. The hotel itself is beautiful!! Really beautiful!! I wish it functioned better because it’s in a really great location, the breakfast is awesome, and the concierge staff are excellent!! The front desk staff are for the most part very good, too, but they did an average job of explaining where everything was in the hotel. Had that been better we would have likely enjoyed our stay more. And, I did all the work searching for the hotel and booking the two rooms in my name for the four of us (2 couples) and they offered an upgrade to the other couple and not us!

Exceptional World-Class Hospitality at a Stunning Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

From the moment I arrived and was greeted by Aleks and the welcoming team at the door, The Londoner completely impressed me. The hotel itself is visually stunning and perfectly situated right in the heart of Leicester Square. Being in the center of the theatre district made it easily walkable to fantastic fine dining restaurants and Chinatown, which was incredibly convenient. What truly elevates this property to a world-class standard, however, is the remarkable hospitality, attentiveness, and professionalism of the staff. I actually noticed the owner dining at the hotel and went over to approach him. Even though I completely interrupted his meal, he was incredibly warm, kind, and took the time to talk to me and thank me for coming. That level of genuine care clearly trickles down and reflects beautifully in his entire team. A few specific team members deserve the highest commendation for going above and beyond to ensure a perfect stay: • Teadora (Reception Manager): Incredibly helpful and pleasant. When I inquired about a specific juice for a personal health protocol, she personally coordinated with the kitchen to ensure it was arranged for my entire stay. • The Reception Team (Calantha & Rayana): Exceptional warmth and efficiency at the front desk. • The Residence & Dining Staff: Scott provided stellar, attentive care up in The Residence. The amazing maître d' team at the stand, including Afori from Albania, as well as Olha, Anna (the manager of Whitcombs), and the exceptional Chef, all demonstrated an outstanding passion for service. There were also many other team members whose names I unfortunately didn't catch or are simply too numerous to mention, but who contributed just as much to making my stay seamless. The dedication of this entire team reflects the absolute best of London hospitality. I look forward to returning in the near future and will certainly be recommending this beautiful hotel to family, friends, and colleagues.

Best choice, trust me I’ve been a guest in all 5-star hotels in London

By far my favourite hotel in London. I’ve stayed here quite a few times by now, and it has genuinely started to feel a little like home whenever I’m in the city. The location is simply excellent, but what really makes the place stand out is how everything comes together. The architecture and interior design are beautiful without ever feeling overdone, the facilities are exceptionally well thought through, and the service is consistently splendid. The rooms are incredibly luxurious, but also genuinely comfortable, which is not always the case in high-end hotels. Not to mention how clean and quiet the rooms are. The restaurants are outstanding too, so it’s one of those rare places where you can easily spend a lot of time in the hotel itself without ever feeling the need to leave. If you have the chance, definitely check out The Residence, which is probably one of my favourite parts of the property, and make sure to spend some time on the rooftop as well. What I also appreciate is the consistency. Every stay feels smooth, personal and effortless. You can clearly tell that this is a property run by top-tier professionals who care about the details and understand hospitality at a very high level. For me, it’s simply become my London home away from home. Happy to pay the extra pound for it, given the great value you get in return.

Do not honour Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed here for one night at a cost of £600 and the refused to honour the free upgrade even although there was rooms in the category above available. It completely goes against the nature of the programme - they shouldn't be allowed to partake in the programme if they cant face the free upgrades. We actually got downgraded from a room with a view we had paid for to a room with no view - it was the single smallest hotel room ive ever stayed in in London. The photo attached shows the window - its not a balcony and cant open etc - its just an odd design feature meaning you cant see anything. The website is very misleading the hotel reminds me of a more upscale Citizen M. Location is ideal for a tourist that's the biggest saving grace.

Amazing Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I recently spent five days at The Londoner and was thoroughly impressed from the moment I arrived. The hotel strikes a perfect balance between upscale luxury and an intimate, welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted immediately, and every staff member we encountered was exceptionally pleasant and accommodating. Thanks to American Express, we received a complimentary upgrade to a room with a beautiful view of the London Eye. The room was a comfortable size for London and thoughtfully decorated. The bathroom featured a modern Toto toilet with a heated seat—an unexpectedly delightful touch. Breakfast was included in our rate, offering a generous buffet selection as well as à la carte options. The location was ideal, especially for a first-time visitor. We were able to walk to many major landmarks and popular areas with ease. The only drawback was the limited storage space in the room. For guests who prefer to fully unpack rather than live out of a suitcase, additional storage would be appreciated. Please don’t hesitate to choose this hotel, I will be returning in the future.
