A nice round table set up for small parties of up to 10 people. One has a choice of different teas , topped up each time with a new cup and saucer. You could also have coffee etc on request. Then comes the delectable small buns( finger sandwiches) stuffed with smoked salmon, coronation chicken, roasted dry aged beef & truffle egg. Then you have platters of savouries like beetroot parfait and parsnip & truffle burger. Another treat is the scones , either plain or with raisins. Last but not least a selection of sweets like sticky toffee, raspberry compote ,black sesame. Finale is the Shard chocolate served on dry ice creating a mystical appetising mood. The sandwiches and savouries were plentiful and we all ate to our fill. To sum up our nice tea experience we were also pleased with the service by waiting staff. Any additional requests like non dairy or gluten free were also entertained. Shangri la ( as always) does live up to its brand name and standard!

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this five-star hotel prides itself on delivering an unparalleled guest experience. The true highlight of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff — every team member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our visit extraordinary. Our room was equally impressive, offering a perfect blend of luxurious comfort and refined style. Every detail, from the impeccable cleanliness to the high-end amenities, reflected a commitment to quality and guest satisfaction. We hosted an event at the Shangri-La last Saturday. It was a high tea lunch and it was amazing. The service was superb and the food really amazing. Everyone enjoyed the views and took a lot of photos taking home these wonderful memories. I would like to thank the following staff members especially who made our event run smoothly. Simona, Dian, Ajay, Tanveer, Catherine, Almalia and Diana. Best regards, Helena

London had many hotels to choose from, but this hotel was our choice for our trip to London. The hotel was amazing, the staff, breakfast each day, the view from the rooms, even the room service fish and chips were fabulous. The afternoon tea was fun and inviting. The hotel sits away from a lot of the touristy areas but close to borough market which is fun. And if you need things quickly, the hotel is right near the train station and there are a lot of shops there. Just a great hotel all around.

Wow!! We have stayed in many of the best hotels in London and around the world but the Iconic View Room at the Shard Shanghai-La was out of this world. It was our 31st Wedding anniversary and we wanted somewhere special to celebrate. From arrival through to departure we were looked after and made to feel special. But the room and the view was something else, 180 degree view of the heart of London, out the left hand side St Paul’s, the middle the City with Tower 42, Bishopgate, the Walkie Talkie building, right middle Tower of London and Tower Bridge and right hand side the Thames meandering towards Canary Wharf. It might seem a lot when you book but worth every penny!!! Sometimes you don’t realise how beautiful London is until you stay somewhere like this.
