Located on the barrier island of Long Beach, New York, far enough from the bright lights of Manhattan but close enough for a city sojourn, is The Allegria Hotel. This brand new year-round beach resort is part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and evokes the kind of modern design that makes it a true standout among its more traditional surroundings. The Allegria Hotel features a private beach entrance under the boardwalk as well as full beach service, making it an undeniably perfect choice for those who are looking to enjoy the best of Long Island. The collection of rooms and suites boasts monochromatic color schemes, blonde woods and warm honey hues.

I didn't get to stay long at the Allegria Hotel or Long Beach but I liked what I saw of it and the location of the hotel is ideal for those arriving at or departing from JFK because JFK is less than an hour away. The hotel was not busy when I arrived (just after Labor Day) and is reasonably priced. I especially enjoyed the breakfast (served by Lois) .

We read some bad reviews of this hotel before staying so I was worried on what to expect. Its a good hotel though and whilst they have some work to do on certain service aspects we had a great stay. Highlight is the rooms. Huge rooms with lots of space, big king beds, really comfortable, bathrooms with two sinks, a bath and a separate walk in shower, fridge, coffee maker, water provided, iron in room, microwave, nice toiletries included mouthwash and make up remover wipes. Located on the boardwalk, great location. Pool/Beach towels and beach chairs provided for hotel guests. Bikes available to rent payable by cash, 25 dollars an hour. Valet parking available on arrival. The bar/restaurant service was slow on all days. The restaurant only serves till 9pm and they wanted last orders at 8.30pm. Bar closed early 10.20pm on our first night so we had to go out for drinks. The team were mostly pleasant to deal with they just seemed to struggle and everything was slow. We had breakfast one morning and the food was very good. We had dinner twice and again the food was good just very slow. There was lots of events on during our stay which added to that pressure on the bar/restaurant team.

Just OK. View was nice but front desk staff was inefficient and couldn't manage properly. Room smelled a little musty and hotel was loud which wasn't great for the Ironman 70.3 guests they were hosting.

The experience at hotel was fantastic. Food, atmosphere, friendly staff, as a matter of fact, the first impression of walking into a hotel means EVERYTHING! And a great gentlemen by the name of Kevin, (at front desk) could not have been more welcoming, patient and informative. And that really does set the tone for the entire stay! The hotel was so busy all weekend with so many weddings and guests and he just made everybody feel calm during a busy time. So the whole experience was wonderful, but he truly stood out! We’ll be back!!! I don’t typically write reviews unless situations really stand out above and beyond. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

What a great location! On the water with the boardwalk directly outside. Stunning views, beautiful rooms, excellent staff. Will definitely be returning!
