We were invited to an event here in April 2026. The room was beautiful with a view of the gulf and long white beach. The food was very good and the poolside service was excellent. I would return here again and again.

Staying at the Longbow Key Club was a disappointing experience overall. The property feels very dated and in serious need of a complete renovation—rooms were dirty, with cracked tiles in the showers, unclean bed linens, and even visible mould on the ceilings in the lagoon-facing rooms. The only area that seems to have been updated is the reception, which stands in stark contrast to the rest of the resort. Unfortunately, the service matched the condition of the facilities—reception staff had a noticeably poor attitude, and wait times were excessive; it took an hour and a half just to get a simple order of french fries at the beach. Despite charging a $50 resort fee, guests still have to pay extra for basic beach amenities like loungers and umbrellas. To make matters worse, we were overcharged at checkout for items we never ordered. All in all, it felt overpriced, poorly maintained, and lacking in basic service standards.

Beautiful place to stay. Loved our room and grounds. When I made my reservation, I purchased the "Toes in the Sand" optional amenity. It came with an umbrella on the beach, which we didn't use, and a $75 daily food and beverage credit. After reviewing the bill at check out I pointed out that we never received the $75 credit with our large poolside food/drink bill. I tried to settle it at the desk when I checked out which didn't happen because the front desk clerk just told me, no, you received it. It showed a note at the bottom of my bill referencing the tab but there was no discount on the tab. I took it up again with someone on the phone when I received the final bill via email. Again, no discount shown but they promised I received it... they just, once again, could not show me where the $75 was discounted. The gentleman on the phone promised he would email it to me in 5 minutes after speaking with him. Of course I received no email. We stayed one evening and spent over $1,200. You would think they would honor our $75 credit or at least be able to show me where it was taken off the bill. Also, my wife didn't realize there was already a 20% gratuity on our $400 food and drink bill at the pool and tipped another $75. I did get that reduced but with many establishments that charge a 20% gratuity the wait person will many times point it out when bringing the bill. I appreciate it when they do this and always add extra. I'm disappointed our server didn't make my wife aware of it. We had a great stay, but I'm a little bitter that they can't show me where they discounted the bill the $75 food credit which I purchased up front for a discounted rate...

Everyone at the resort has been very friendly and helpful. The food here is really good, the rooms are quiet and clean. Tons of dolphins daily. Secluded, clean beach.

We were at the Opal Sandpearl in Clearwater during February. We enjoyed out stay there so much we only looked at Opal resorts for March. The Resort at Longboat Key Club was fantastic! The service from the Head Bellman(Dean) and font desk manager {Kimberly) was extraordinary and so helpful! Our room was looking out on the Gulf, over a corner of the pool for amazing sunset views! Thanks Dean and Kimberly. We often got take out from the restaurant, and ate on our patio as the sun set. All the employees we interacted with, especially Cam (waitress) and Caleb (at the beach) were tremendous, helpful, and friendly. As Dean said when we left; "Oh, you'll definitely be back" And he's right, we will.

Longboat Key Club & Resort without a doubt should be listed as a five-star resort. The staff, location, cuisine and activities all equate to the favorite all time resort at which my family loves to stay. The two-bedroom deluxe unit is outstanding with an unbeatable view. Longboat Key is close to St. Armands Circle so shopping is a fabulous day trip. The new spa at the Key Club is also a nice relaxing day. Tennis, golf and water sports on property, but nothing beats the beautiful white fine sugar sand of the Gulf of Mexico. The evenings bring the best in many gourmet restaurants within close proximity, and most are listed in Wine Spectator. No matter where our family goes in the world, this resort is our all time favorite!
