Reviews for The Aster

Funky but Fee$ on top of room rate!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Pros: Cool hotel with funky vibe. Room was spacious, eclectic decorations and definitely not cookie cutter. Cons: Amenity fee of $35 per night. Valet parking runs $72 per night!! Cool place perhaps if you are going to hang out at the hotel with enough time to take in the amenities. Definitely not recommended for a simple overnight stay.

Awesome experience

Beautiful hotel with a plethora of communal spaces, a rooftop lounging deck, and giant, luxurious rooms. Very old Hollywood vibes while still being modern and cool. Staff was great, particularly the valet team who was super speedy and friendly. Dorian is the best. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff, efficient service, gorgeous hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

The hotel is beautiful and the views on the roof are gorgeous, Hollywood hills, Hollywood sign and the iconic Capitol Records. When you valet the staff swarms your car in the most helpful way and with a smile. The woman at the front desk was lovely and welcoming. A great place to unwind, see the sights and sit on the roof with a drink and watch the sunset. Highly recommend.

A boutique hotel in a great location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Beware of the neighbours. Four out of my five nights staying at the Aster was a great experience. A boutique hotel that offers a quiet sanctuary away from the busy Hollywood streets. It has excellent amenities including two club levels on level II and level V. The gym was a great size and had excellent equipment. My room was located on the third floor and had a small balcony which (unfortunately) faced the Avalon nightclub so it was somewhat disruptive. My room was a suite that was open plan and lacked any private spaces. This was okay given I was travelling solo. The hotel staff were accommodating and welcoming. This is also a hotel that has a separate member aspect which gives it a vibrant feeling in the shared work/enjoyment/relaxation areas. The downside of my room was the Avalon nightclub which operates until 2:00 a.m. They exit unruly patrons through the side which is directly below room 310. They also clear rubbish and other work happens very early in the morning around 5 AM. While this did not take away from the main part of my stay it was very disruptive on Friday night and Saturday morning. For this reason, I would make sure I had a room on the inner part of the hotel certainly not a room facing the alleyway and the Avalon nightclub.

Top Tier!

This hotel was amazing and from all angles. Delightful check in experience with an upgraded room, packages already waiting for me in my room. The staff were on point! They exceeded my expectations in every possible way, every single staff, from front desk, bellman, housekeeping! They were polite, timely and just awesome all around. I was really pleased and delighted with this stay.
