Downtown Los Angeles Proper

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels, and every once in a while you come across someone who completely changes your experience as a guest. For me, that person was Amber. My travel plans ended up changing multiple times during my stay, and what could have easily become a frustrating situation was handled with so much grace, patience, and professionalism. Amber never made me feel like I was inconveniencing anyone. Instead, she consistently looked for ways to help and made me feel genuinely cared for. In a world where great customer service seems to be getting harder and harder to find, Amber was a reminder of what exceptional hospitality actually looks like. The rest of the front desk staff was wonderful as well. Every interaction felt welcoming, thoughtful and accommodating. It was clear that the culture of service extends beyond one person and throughout the entire team. The same can be said for the restaurant staff. Carlito (I hope I’m remembering his name correctly) and the rest of the team were fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely enjoyable to be around. Every meal felt like I was being welcomed back rather than simply served. The property was great, but people are what make a place memorable. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. I’ll absolutely be back!

This hotel exceeded my expectations in several ways. The room was spacious, everything was clean, and the service was consistently good throughout my visit.

From the front desk, valet and housekeeping service was exceptional! They tended all of our needs as we prepared for my daughter’s wedding. We will only stay at the Proper from here on out while in LA!

This hotel was booked by our agency for a business trip. I travel for business, frequently, and the Proper stood out as an exceptional hotel experience in a few ways. The decor in the room felt "hand chosen" VS bulk purchased. The vibe was "guest room in someone's well appointed but very cozy home in Santa Fe." There was a "warmth and soothe" energy generated by the varietal, natural textures and color palette. In addition to the cozy room, the staff was perfectly friendly and helpful without being intrusive and my room was very quiet (even though it faced the street with a city view). One more bonus: The food in the downstairs restaurant was right up my alley - delicious, nutritious, with an elevated "foodie" menu variety. Thank you for a lovely stay, Proper Hotel!

A beautiful hotel with unique design and excellent service. We went for our 5th wedding anniversary. Manny was amazing while check in. Delicious breakfast with so many options. The rooftop area was just wonderful.
