This was the BEST HOTEL, BEST SERVICE, BEST FOOD I can't say enough about this hotel! Everyone was so attentive! The breakfast was incredible; you must try their French Toast! Dinner was wonderful with a great view of the city! THE STAFF WENT AND EXTRA MILE TO MAKE THIS A MEMEORABLE EXPERIENCE

Downtown LA Proper is a Treasure!
Downtown LA Proper is a treasure! I took my wife for an anniversary surprise getaway and the entire experience from pre-registration, to arrival, to departure was outstanding! Hotel staff listened to my desire for a special anniversary trip and gave us an excellent room location and a special gift waiting inside our room upon arrival. Manny at the front desk was so welcoming and wished us a Happy Anniversary. Every request was met and the genuine friendliness throughout was so authentic and genuine. The room was very nice, well appointed and with an extremely comfortable bed. Our dinner at Cara Cara was just as I had planned and the staff there made our evening memorable. Our check-out was personally handled by General Manager, Bruno who was so professional and a true representative leader of his exceptional staff. We look forward to our return to LA Proper with it's great location, beautiful views of the city, and a staff that so many other hotels could learn from.

Superior Service
Great use of technology that ensures superior service. Provides the charm of old Los Angeles with a more contemporary flavor. Fairly central location to DTLA attractions as well as LA Live.

Great option, especially for USC parents
- rooms are clean, very functional and comfortable - location is especially good for parents/family visiting USC (can/Uber only 12-15 minutes) - the ground level restaurant is an excellent option for breakfast - the rooftop restaurant is also a great dinner option - I will be back!

A local getaway.
I took my husband for a little staycation at the downtown Los Angeles proper hotel. It was really an outstanding experience on every level. Vanessa, the manager, made contact with me before our stay and made sure that my husband had a beautiful birthday experience at The Proper. Eric, in the restaurant upstairs, was so lovely and friendly. And there was also an Italian man who helped us at breakfast who was a class act. From the view of the city to the drinks at sunset, to the outstanding breakfast, the staff and environment of The Proper Hotel made us feel cared for and welcome. I’m hoping that this becomes a yearly experience for us.
