Here, the creative vision of Kelly Wearstler seamlessly blends past and present with compelling design, vintage influence and local art. DTLA Proper -- coolest east side property
My husband and I loved our stay at this chic hotel. I live in Los Angeles and stayed here for a week when we were displaced by the fires. The staff was so kind and accommodating to our circumstance. I happen to love NYC and this is the first time since I've lived in LA where I felt like I was in NY. You have this stylish room and below you is the hustle and bustle of DTLA, with tons of great shops and restaurants to explore. The rooftop restaurant/bar with the pool was lively and happening without being overcrowded or snobby. The food and drinks were awesome. Great job, Proper!

A Perfect Getaway!
We had a little staycation for our wedding anniversary on Easter weekend and had the most amazing time. The staff, especially Vanessa, made the trip extra special for us and were very accommodating. We cannot recommend both restaurants enough. Every single bite and sip was delicious, and the rooftop pool was very zen. Great music too!

First time visit
One of the best customer service I've ever had in any of the hotels I've stayed at. It's a walking distance to clothing/shoe stores which makes the location great. And I had one of the best brunch in the hotel restaurant! Highly recommended!!

Attentive staff and beautiful rooms, will stay here again
The Downtown Proper has the feel of a far more expensive and excusive hotel. While Downtown LA is not my favorite location, I would stay here again. I was especially appreciative that the staff upgraded our reservation without any request or prompting. I highly recommend.

Does not disappoint!
A grand experience in every way! There is nothing better than a great boutique hotel with a wonderful restaurant! It will always be The Proper for me! Wonderful beds for a proper sleep. Complete with crisp, pressed sheets. Well-stocked larder, complete with my favorite chips! The room service is excellent, as well as!
