Beware of the hotel and fraudulent credit card charges

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Beware. This hotel keeps your credit card information on file and commits fraud. I booked this hotel for Oct. 17-20. I canceled my trip to LA as well as this reservation. One month later, I looked at my credit card only to find that the hotel charged my card on Nov. 16! I emailed the hotel to explain, and the manager said it was for one night in October due to cancelation! I explained that No. 1, I have my receipt l, which says zero. He then sent me a non-existent email address and asked me to prove that I received a cancelation that said I owed nothing. I’m not sure what this hotel’s problem is. But I am flagging this for all people who care about what a hotel does with their personal information. Once you book this hotel, it indefinitely keeps your credit card information on file, and it may charge you weeks later.

A hidden gem! Second stay and now officially my 'go to' when visiting LA

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

For me to take time to write a review for a hotel these days is saying a lot. I'll start by sharing I am not easily impressed (especially when it comes to lodging in the United States these days) and I do not hand out compliments easily. That said, the Hotel June West LA is hands down one of the best kept secrets for a stay near LAX with easy access to Santa Monica and UCLA/Westwood/BH. While very close to and super convenient to LAX, Hotel June is not your typical 'airport' hotel. It is separated from the pack and provides a consistent clean, comfortable and welcoming stay for a great value. Great location situated in Playa Vista (take a morning walk to the nearby Starbucks) or a longer walk to the Pacific Ocean. Coffee shops, eateries and a grocery market within walking distance. Rooms are simple and comfortable and the shower water pressure is amazing (unheard of in California!) and high end Aesop bath products. No noisy window air conditioner units at Hotel June and a window that opens if you appreciate fresh air. Super comfy mattress, great pillows and cozy linens and towels. Hotel June is now my new go to property when visiting LA. I am happy to spend a little more time in my car driving to where a need to go in order to be comfortable and sleep well. This past stay I had the opportunity to dine for dinner at Caravan Swim Club and the fish tacos were amazing! Don't miss them. In closing, I'd like to give a shout out to a few staff I have encountered during my recent stays. Cory (front of house manager, I believe) is a sharp and professional leader and it clearly shows in his staff. Kevin who checked me in was a delight and provides guests great first impression. Two front desk overnight staff during my stay (sorry I do not recall their names) provided excellent service related to a noise issue in the middle of the night.

Lovely Hotel with Stellar Staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I planned a surprise stay for my boyfriend’s birthday last week and we had an amazing time at Hotel June! The staff were so friendly and hospitable. Kevin, who worked at the front desk was incredibly helpful with answering questions and accommodating small requests I had to surprise my boyfriend. The room we stayed at was cute, clean and cozy. For toiletries, they provide Aesop products which felt luxurious… Combined with the high water pressure shower, it was the best way to end the day! Waking up and grabbing coffee at the Scenic Bar was something we looked forward to each morning. The food the at the Caravan Swim Club was also delicious. And although weren’t the biggest fans of their Breakfast Burrito, we highly recommend the Breakfast Sandwich & the Wagyu Burger with them killer crunchy fries! Another thing that made our stay comfortable was being able to text their team whenever we had any inquires or requests. We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel June, and we hope we can stay gain soon!

Pleasant Surprise Near LAX

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Hotel June was such a pleasant surprise given how close it is to LAX. The staff are super friendly and made me feel welcome right away. The rooms are modern but still have a bit of old school charm that makes them feel warm and inviting. I love the design of the lobby — it’s stylish and comfortable without feeling overdone. I also loved how it felt like a slice of Palm Springs right next to busy LAX. Can’t wait to stay here again.
