Reviews for Hotel June

Solid stay near LAX

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My family and I stayed at Hotel June for the weekend. We’re from Las Vegas and was looking for an affordable, yet luxurious stay to celebrate my sister’s special occasion. On picture, Hotel June was just the right fit for us. However, some aspects of our stay could use improvement. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by valet staff. There is no self parking available, unless you want to park on the street - which in a busy area near LAX is less than ideal. The valet staff were great, and greeted us with a smile and directions to the lobby. They were patient as we unpacked everything from the car. As we went to the lobby, one of the front desk staff checked us in. He was kind, but I wouldn’t necessarily say welcoming. He seemed tired, and didn’t greet us with a smile or a welcome. He informed us that the TV services providers are not working and there is no TV in any of the rooms. Unfortunate, but I understand. I had wished there was a compensation for the inconvenience but none was offered. I had checked in on my phone prior to arriving, so the process was quick. However, I then noticed all of the requests I had made prior to arriving were not honored. I had asked if the two rooms I booked could be on the same floor - which were not. Due to security reasons, it made it difficult to travel in between the two rooms as we had to both meet in the lobby and take the same elevator to whichever floor we were going to. I didn’t want to get our room keys mixed up. Less than ideal, but good for security purposes. When I entered my room, I noticed a strong damp/musty odor. I tried to air it out in the small window but it covered the entire space. I notified front desk and the same office staff member brought up my new room key within minutes. His demeanor was the same and there was no apology or statement regarding the inconvenience. Anyways, we moved 3 doors down and the odor was gone. My requests for extra towels and a Nespresso machine were ignored in both rooms. As our stay was short and our group was tired, I didn’t bother asking for them a third time. There were some nice amenities, like Aesop soaps and lotions (available for sale), comfy linens, alarm clock, and reading lights. Unfortunately, none of the mirrors lit up, and overhead lighting was limited. The entire hotel is renovated to look luxurious and comfortable, but the rooms and hallways felt small and cramped. Water gets all over the bathroom floor, and my sister stated her door to the bathroom would often get stuck on the track. We didn’t have any television to fall asleep to, but that’s alright. Breakfast was available for purchase in the downstairs lobby, but I found that the cafe space and lobby being right next to each other - seating felt a bit limited as we checked out. As check out looked pretty busy, I wasn’t expecting much conversation with the staff. They were friendly, but gave me my receipt and moved on to help others. The best part of my stay was probably the valet staff, they always had my car ready before I even came down to the lobby! They were very friendly and kind. Overall, I think Hotel June is a solid place to stay if you’re visiting and want to explore areas of South Bay and Venice. They’re both short drives from the hotel. I wouldn’t expect outstanding service from them, but you will be met with luxury-adjacent decor, valet service, and amenities. I will probably try another hotel before staying in this one again, but for the price of two rooms, I felt like I got a pretty great deal for the area. My hopes were underwhelmed, but it was a very solid stay and I would try this place again another time.

Great service, great value

The best place to stay if you're looking for value and top notch service in the Marina Del Rey/Playa Del Rey/Westchester area. The rooms are well sized, the Aesop amenities are lovely and the food is consistently good at the breakfast restaurant in the lobby as well as at the poolside restaurant.

Excellent choice in West LA

Excellent choice in West LA! The hotel is convenient to LAX as well as Marina del Rey. Our room was very comfortable and quite large. The staff was friendly and professional. The valet guys deserve a shout out - we never waiting more than a couple of minutes to retrieve our vehicle. We did not dine on property but did have drinks in the open air Swim Club which was quite nice. The surrounding area has many interesting dining options. I would recommend asking for a room on the "quiet" side of the hotel as the rooms facing Lincoln Blvd get quite a bit of street noise. We will definitely return.

Palm Springs in LA

We finished our 3 week family vacation to the USA with 2 days at the June Hotel. It was the perfect place to relax, do some last minute shopping and enjoy playing around the pool with our family before the flight home to Sydney. The hotel was beautifully appointed and the rooms were spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner and the breakfast cafe. We would definitely return.
