Reviews for InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown

We had a great time!!

I had a wonderful stay at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. The location is excellent, with many major tourist attractions nearby, and the Metro station is just across the street, making it incredibly easy to get to Universal Studios. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was fantastic, and the staff were friendly and always willing to help. A special shout-out to Jerrod P, Gerardo, and another tall Black gentleman in the valet team (I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name). They made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived, helped us find our tour van, and went above and beyond to assist us. A big thank you to all of the concierge team as well. Every time we walked through the lobby, they were warm, welcoming, and especially kind to my son, keeping him entertained with jokes and making him smile. Those little interactions really made our stay extra special. The rooms were clean, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and overall we had a fantastic experience. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Los Angeles!

Overall amazing getaway

This was my second time at the Intercontinental and it was just as amazing as I had remembered. The aesthetics and comfort were exceptional and neither factor was compromised by the other. Everything I've ordered from La Boucherie, Spire 73, and even room service was delicious, and I've enjoyed using the amenities such as the fully equipped fitness center and the pool with a view of the city. Special shout out to Andri, who had helped us twice during our breakfast, especially on our Sunday morning which was unmistakably a very busy morning. He had made sure we were okay despite the long waits as several guests were present for their Sunday breakfast and brunch.

A perfect staycation ☀️⭐️

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We have been staying at the Intercontinental DTLA since their inaugural year. It has always been exceptional from the rooms, the views, the restaurants, the bars, location is prime - all exceptional. Today was the first time we have purchased a reserved day pass for the pool only. We were concerned with an 11 AM arrival that we may be out of luck with our observed seats, but upon arrival we were introduced to our bartenders for the day, Terrell, Blair and Andrew. Upon a very warm welcome, Terrell escorted us to our reserved lounge chairs which were in a prime location with towels, side tables and umbrella. He gave us a quick lay of the land and our staycation began. We kicked off our visit with cocktails, a slush fund and spicy margarita- Followed shortly thereafter with blackened Baja fish, tacos, and shortly after that, the most amazing french fries! Food and drink were fantastic. With the music playing in the background, a sky filled with sunshine, Terrell, Blair and Andrew checking in often… It was a perfect way to spend our Saturday! We are looking forward to visiting again in the near future. Thank you for an awesome day! 5 stars all the way ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful and modern rooms, weak dining options

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We've stayed here on two separate occasions. The hotel is new and rooms are beautiful and modern with amazing views of LA. Love the Byredo toiletries and liquid hand soap- can't believe more hotels don't have this. The rooms are little bit of a pain to get to because you need to take separate elevators. We also added club lounge access, which was great for grabbing quick bottles of water and drinks. The breakfast is pretty solid, but other food was nothing special, like your typical banquet buffet food. For food, they offered a solid but small-ish room service menu, which was nice to see as an industry trend has been winding down this service. Besides that, only dining options are either the bar with a small menu of pizzas and burgers or La Boucherie, the French steakhouse, which is a pretty fancy spot with solid, but not spectacular, food. I guess they figure most people would find food in downtown LA or Doordash. We would've dined more on-property if the main restaurant did not imply nicer dress. Breakfast is at La Boucherie, which was amazing on the weekdays, but under-serviced and incredibly crowded on the weekends. Heads up you booked through Amex FHR, you get charged a service fee separately, I think it was $18 or so? The hotel's entrance is a nook off the main street, which is very convenient for Ubers and cars.

A plus for Terrell at the Pool bar

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We arrived at 11:30 AM, and our room was not quite ready. We went to the pool bar where Terrell was bartending. He is excellent bartender, friendly, easy to talk to, and is a great representative for your brand.
