Gerardo is an amazing doorman, one of the best! He generously assisted my son with directions as he was picking me up and continued with a helpful demeanor my entire stay. The only negative part of my experience was getting stuck in an elevator, but the manager on duty, Maria, addressed my concerns and made amends appropriately. The entire staff was very courteous and helpful, and I would highly recommend the hotel.

It is a great stay. Great for business trip with good value and atmosphere. The front desk is very helpful, in particular, Emerson, who upgraded my room and late check out right at check in (p.s, I am an IHG member). The room is clean, modern with spectacular city view.

When staying a couple of nights in LA, this place was on my to-stay list for one of them! I wanted to stay right in the heart of downtown, and have a great view, with a luxury feel but that was still relatively affordable, and with parking. The IHG ticked all those boxes. It's easy enough to find the parking lot (although we did manage to miss it and have to drive around the block once!) and our valet experience was fine on the way in, but a little longer when trying to check out, as couldn't find someone at the desk for a short while. Although the hotel has a large entry way, and feels quite 'corporate' in places, it's signed well to be able to find the elevators up to the sky lobby check-in (which is on the 70th floor I think). The lobby is fab, with places to sit and chill should you be too early for check-in (like we were!), and a bar to grab a drink etc. The girl on reception was fabulous - super welcoming but not in a fake OTT way, taking my details to email me once the room was ready - she was really the highlight of any interactions the service staff on my visit. The most obvious plus side to this hotel are the awesome views it provides, and although I'm actually afraid of heights once i get past about 10 floors, I still managed OK by staying a few feet away from the large windows, as I'm OK looking straight across the horizon and overall view, but don't like to see downwards! If you are afraid fully of being up high, I'd recommend getting a lower floor (we were on the 56th floor and i did have to avoid looking towards the window when moving around the room, as felt like we were up in the clouds!) Having said that, it was beautiful at night from a distance! Our room on the corner (think it was a junior suite) was huge, the bed was comfy and the spec was what you'd expect from a decent chain brand hotel of this level. We ate at Spire, which again has the most amazing views if you're not too scared of being on an open top 73rd floor location! We reserved a table a few hours before eating and got allocated a 'window' table, which again if you're not great with heights, you may be better asking for an internal table, as sits right next to a glass panel type wall. With hindsight, I'd have preferred to eat at the other main restaurant but that was closed on our visit, but the food and service was good at Spire, so once I'd positioned myself so I wasn't directly next to the glass wall, I was OK for the duration of the meal. Be aware that there is only a glass elevator to get up to Spire, so you may need to close your eyes on the short trip up! Aside from my own height related issues, the place is fabulous, and there is a nice rooftop (7th floor I think) pool area and bar. We felt safe enough walking around the couple of local blocks to the mall and just generally looking around, but obviously you need to be on your guard in the downtown area. We enjoyed our stay, and would return if back in LA in future.

Had a quick one night stay at the Intercontinental downtown Los Angeles for our anniversary. Called ahead and spoke with Marvin from Concierge, who was wonderfully helpful in arranging flowers for our room. Had a nice surprise when Kelley and Ariel from member services contacted us via email about our visit to ensure we had a nice day. Much thanks to your staff.
