Rick at the lobby desk was fabulous. Went out of his way to fulfill a small request on a jam packed night on New Year’s Eve. Everything was closed and he found a way to give me a cup of chocolates. It was a really nice gesture. The place is great.

Phenomenal location with great views. Perfect for business travel in downtown. Close to all major corporate buildings. Lovely staff that truly show care at check in.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From start to finish, this stay was a pleasure. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained, exactly what you hope for when you check in after a long day. The bed? Solid. The kind you actually sleep in, not just tolerate. The staff deserves special praise. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, no forced smiles, no indifference. Just good, honest service the way hotels used to do it (and should still do). The location was convenient, the atmosphere was calm, and everything felt well-run and cared for. It’s clear this place takes pride in what they offer, and that makes all the difference. I’d absolutely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, reliability, and a welcoming experience

I am a frequent visitor to Los Angeles and The Intercontinental Downtown is in my top three favourite hotels in the city. You pay for what you get and I would highly recommend a room on a high floor. I had a Premier King on the corner which was fab. The soaking tub was gorgeous. Amazing views. Excellent staff. Meghan (who went to trouble to ensure a good room and it was fantastic) and Sami at check in were great and made me feel valued as an IHG Platinum Elite member unlike a Kimpton property I stayed in during the same trip to LA. However, a special commendation goes to Bent the bellman who was brilliant assisting me with my luggage when I was somewhat flustered. He went the extra mile helping me locate luggage very quickly without my ticket and was kind and pleasant to chat to. As a solo female traveler Bent and the other staff were very respectful and made me feel safe and respected in a way you don’t always get as a woman travelling alone. The only downsides was some minimal wear to my room and the room service. I ordered the half roast chicken. It was inedible. The vegetables were almost raw. The bread I was given was toast! And the desert was melted and looked like it had been sitting out for hours. $117 including service fee. To be fair, the hotel was extremely busy my first night when I ordered but food should be consistent. The hotel did remove the bread, desert and vegetables from my order charge but I still paid for the chicken which was not great. I didn’t dine in the hotel again during my stay. However, it was the only big issue. As others have said, the elevators take time and sometimes patience but overall a much better stay than I expected and my compliments again to Bent, Meghan and Samy.

I have to admit that I never fully adjusted to what I feel is the inconvenience of the elevator system--meaning that if you are staying on the 50th floor, you first must go up to the 70th-floor lobby and then take another set of elevators down to get to street level. But, aside from that, I very much enjoyed my weekend stay here. The swimming pool and fitness center are great--even if again you first have to go up to go down to the 7th floor. The hotel is located directly across the street from the 7th Street/Metro Center station, which was very convenient for me, though the hotel's closeness to the Harbor Freeway gives some rooms on the lower floors a constant hum of traffic. At the front desk, I interacted most often with Manny, who was a tremendous help throughout my stay. I had briefer interactions with Samy and Angel, both of whom were also extremely helpful. The top service I received from every staff member I encountered tells me something very positive about the hotel's management.
