Reviews for The Brown Hotel

THE BEST SERVICE AND FOOD

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

No experience would be complete without a trip to The Brown Hotel. Old World ambiance and service rarely seen today. It seems you can go home again as my recent visit matched the memories from my days living in Louisville. I had a wonderful lunch overlooking a pretty part of the outdoors. Great cocktails and of course, a Hot Brown for lunch. Everyone there was very friendly and the restaurant manager, Courtney, came by to check in. I mentioned my connection to the city and my need to find the city's traditional Benedictine sandwich before I left Louisville. Minutes later, she returned with a plate of them for me. They weren't on the menu. She has no idea how happy she made me. The effort and thought was just amazing and something we don't see today. It's a very special place and I can't wait to return.

Beautiful historic hotel where the hot brown was orginally cooked up. Well appointed rooms. Good restaurant and friendly bar.

As for Kat the hotel buffet! The manager is a doll as well.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The hotel just sends you to the past the moment you enter, all beautiful. Beds and sheets are most comfortable and everything is clean and just fantastic. My favorite was the buffet, my experience was the breakfast, and the buffet was by far the best I have ever had at any hotel (not just the U.S., I travel a lot. The food selection, in addition to the waffles, meats, etc. which were gourmet level done right - the salad bar had quinoa with mango, fresh salmon, the brightest most colorful fresh vegtables you can imagine, cheese and fruits galore. Worth every penny. But the best part was the people, the service was the kindest most professional and welcoming. Shout out to my server Kat, who is such a pro and could be a hospitality ambassador without even trying. Just fantastic, and she really took care of this weary traveler for which I am grateful!! I hope to see you again, Kat! Thank you for making feel like I was home away from home :) - Lisa S.

Tiny overpriced room - rude staff!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Stayed here in June for a wedding - room is tiny and the staff was very rude! Room had no natural lighting. When brought to the attention of management (I think I actually spoke to the GM but not sure) they seemed very condescending about our situation. I would definitely avoid!
