Omni Louisville Hotel

‘Do not enter’ sign at entrance to hotel. Reserved a premium king suite, got a double queen because they ‘ran out of king rooms.’ They didn’t answer the phone when we tried to ask about the room, multiple times.

I’ve stayed in downtown hotels where the city left me scared to leave the safety of the lodging. Louisville is NOT a city like that – it was surprisingly lively, even at night. If being in the middle of downtown Louisville is a priority, this place would be hard to beat. Our room had full bath, phone, AC, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, radio-alarm, in-room safe, iron & board, and TV with about 61 channels. Free amenities include exercise room & outdoor pool; the latter has several places to relax in the sun, grab a drink, or enjoy the view of the city. Wifi is free if you join their Loyalty Program at no charge. Connected to the hotel is Falls City Market, with several restaurants & shops. There are also several nearby places for food & drinks. The staff was courteous & helpful. The place was surprisingly quiet despite being in the middle of downtown. Security is good – you cannot ride the elevator without a room key. Parking is extra, but there are two ways to reduce this expense. 1) Street parking in Louisville is free between 6pm & 7am. I have NO IDEA if doing so is safe, but I know it is legal & free. 2) Parking at the Falls City Market Parking Garage is adjacent to the Market, and costs substantially less than hotel charges. Also, if you spend $5 at the Market and get your receipt validated, you can get up to two hours of parking there for free. Several Louisville attractions are within walking distance (depending on how you define that term), and one place I recommend is Fourth Street Live, just a block away. I watched two FIFA championship games on a giant screen in a covered area there, and the enthusiasm of fellow fans was contagious.

I gave the Omni Louisville a high rating because the customer service and the staff working at the hotel were excellent. The housekeeper Sandra was extremely kind and went out of her way to speak to our kids and make sure that our needs were met. She was warm and welcoming and made us feel seen and appreciated as customers. For this she deserves special recognition. Additionally the bellhop named Alexander was excellent as well. He was very kind when my children spoke to him and he offered my husband and I some excellent recommendations for local places to visit. Throughout our stay Sandra and Alex made my family feel at home. Not only would we return to the hotel anytime we visit the area, but we will also be recommending this hotel to family and friends when they are traveling in the area.

We love the Omni. We stay at the Louisville Omni every year for the Run for Roses basketball tournament. The hotel has everything you need after a long day of basketball. Multiple restaurant and bars. Food is excellent. Bobs steakhouse is our favorite. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool area is vibrate and modern.

The omni hotel was a nice hotel with a beautiful lobby. The rooms were clean but felt a bit too dark. The food options were good, although the food was very pricey. I was not a fan of the location however. The immediate surrounding area was dirty and sadly there were many homeless people surrounding the area. The parking cost approximately $20.00 a day, and you need to walk around the block from the garage to enter the hotel lobby. As a mom traveling with 2 kids, I did not feel safe having to do this. I will not stay at this location again.
