A new fave hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This hotel is already topping the list as one of my favourites. It is the perfect place to base your stay in beautiful loumarin. Location - It’s located in the centre of the village making it super easy to zip in and out throughout the day Design - it is beautifully designed with a thoughtful aesthetic focusing on top end finishes. Decorations have been carefully sourced, working with either high end brands or local craftsmanship. Food - the menu focuses on sharing plates with a huge vegetarian selection. As a non meat eater in France, this was really welcome. All dishes were really tasty. Service - a warm welcome awaited us from super friendly staff. A special shout out to Christina (front of house) Colleen (in the restaurant) and the other very friendly lady with the pony tail for looking after us (Sorry I didn’t get her name). Outdoor space - lovely outdoor space that’s sheltered to keep the pesky mistral at bay. Little extras - daily activities included. I tried the yoga. It was bliss. It’s a treat - but it’s worth it.

Caring staff who goes out of their way

We didn’t actually stay at the property but wanted to recognize Nawfel. He saw that I had a flat tire, allowed me to park off the road in a private area and helped coordinate the logistics of getting our car towed, tire replaced, and a cab to the car center. He took what was a bad situation (for this non-French speaker) and helped to facilitate a solution and salvage our day. Thank you!

Beautiful (expensive) hotel- but terrible smell of mildew

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

In so many ways a wonderful hotel – beautifully restored, tastefully and authentically decorated, and perfectly located. Only slightly disappointed by the standard of the dinner restaurant and the annoying procedures around breakfast (where you can wait a long time for a second cup of coffee) – as well as the outdoor café, where the service never showed up (despite a small concert). Besides this a very friendly staff. But the main reason for the missing stars is the terrible smell of mold in the room. A smell of mildew. It lingered in our clothes and bags for the rest of our stay in Provence, and didn’t disappear until everything could be washed after returning home. Perhaps this is as good as it gets in an old building close to the water – but then it should be reflected in the price. And this is a rather expensive hotel.

Just returned from a great stay at Le Moulin de Lourmarin. The town of Loumarin is truly lovely. Food was excellent, wildflowers are out in full bloom...a very friendly staff added to an excellent stay.

Le Moulin de Lourmarin couldn't have been any better! The staff was friendly, helpful, and made us feel as if we were guests in their home. The room was lovely with a view of the chateau from the living area windows, and definitely had the feel of being in an apartment. The food! What can I say about the food other than it was exceptional! Every thing we ate was delicious! The town is charming, exactly what you think of when you think of Provence. We can not say enough good things about Le Moulin. We are already talking about when we can make a return visit!
