“We’ve tried to evoke the ambiance of a space remembered by a great writer, by a Marguerite Duras or a Noel Coward,” says Eric Verschelden, designer of Villa Maly. Indeed, these guestrooms are memorable: Parquet floors, tropical hardwood furniture and artful décor combine British and French colonial tastes, and the effect is timelessly elegant. Deluxe Rooms occupy the Plumeria villa, which once housed His Royal Highness Khamtan Ounkham, the grandson of a Lao king. It’s an authentic immersion in the history of Luang Prabang, hailed as the best-preserved city in Asia by UNESCO.

Spent 5 nights at this beautiful, peaceful hotel. The deluxe room was spacious and well equipped with very comfortable beds. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful but would suggest maybe a sweet option on the menu like pancakes or waffles. We enjoyed reasonably priced cocktails in the bar and the Asian tapas was extremely tasty, beautifully presented and reasonably priced. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We would highly recommend this hotel to our family and friends.

A wonderful experience: beautiful surrounds in a quiet yet central location. Impeccable service from sunny professional staff. Excellent food and beverage choices. Nothing too difficult for talented reception staff. Swimming pool and gardens. A jewel.

I spent 9 days at Villa Maly and the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and just a short walk from the centre of town for the night market, restaurants etc. The pool area is lovely and the rooms are beautifully designed. I had an amazing stay and would highly recommend the hotel.

Wonderful hospitality, great location, large and clean room, fantastic breakfast, felt like we were staying at a luxurious royal family estate in the middle of the jungle. Highly recommended !

Great hotel and VERY convent to downtown area where we participated in the Lao New Year's festivities !! The staff are very cordial, breakfast is FABULUOS and rooms are really well done. We were moved to larger room on the ground floor the second time when we came back from the northern part of the country. the only thing wee would have like was a veranda outside that room. But otherwise, we'd stay here agin if we come back. Would HIGHLY recommend this to other travelers staying in Luang Prabang !!
