Hotel Splendide Royal Lugano

Upscale beautiful hotel with beautiful view of the lake and easy access to all Lugano shopping and restaurants. Rooms were very spacious and well equipped. Staff was helpful in planning and advice. Breakfast was plentiful. Only complaint was for our specific room the AC did not work and staff was unable to fix it and offered no compensation.

The hotel is positioned perfectly on the lake and the view from the room was stunning. Luigi greeted us at check-in. His enthusiasm, kindness and smile started the holiday off with incredible energy. He is a real asset to this wonderful hotel and we look forward to visiting again soon.

The hotel is truly grand. It is luxurious with a beautiful view of the lake. The room was spacious also with a nice view of the lake. The pizza restaurant on the patio provides a splendid option for a drink and casual dinner. The breakfast spread was exceptional. The staff were outstanding. We have stayed there several times and would look forward to coming back.

Every few years my husband is invited to a conference in Lugano. I only come along when I know we can stay at the Hotel Splendide Royal. This past week was a truly refreshing experience. We had a beautiful room overlooking the lake, in the older part of the hotel, with comfortable bed and great housekeeping service. I spent my first morning in the spa and received the best pedicure I've had in a long time from Francesca. Sumptuous breakfasts every morning at the Veranda restaurant, as well as one excellent dinner there our last night -- and two evenings enjoying drinks and food at the outdoor piazetta restaurant on the first floor. Grateful to the friendly and attentive staff and a lovely, relaxing and elegant place in a beautiful location.

We stayed for 2 nights in June. We stay at the Splendid Royal in Rome so we are familiar with the high quality of the brand and were not disappointed. The room in the palace was stunning (as we were use to). The concierge and staff were 5 stars. We had dinner and were not happy with an appetizer which was quickly and wonderfully corrected (thank you great wait staff). The overall experience was wonderful. My only critique would be to upgrade the breakfast buffet, (while ordering other items were available they still could improve it) I would stay here again but I would definitely stay in the palace section.
