Reviews for Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay

Moroccan Hospitality Masterclass

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Second time around just confirms that this hotel is one of the best in the world. We’ve been everywhere from Amman, Oberoi, FourSeasons, Mandarin O, Banyan, Burj Al Arab, looooong etc. This second time round did prove it to us. It baffles me how some people can leave anything slightly negative.. really shocking. Maybe trying to fish for something complimentary 😂 We’ve been in October, now again and we will return in December too. The place is stunning. The location unbeatable and 15mnts from the airport. Everything is curated to the highest degree of luxury for the guests enjoyment. But truly, the gem is the staff; operationally speaking. Nothing ever felt rehearsed or transactional; instead, every interaction carried a warmth and sincerity that instantly put us at ease. A special mention must go to the GM & Juan Pablo and his exceptional team, whose leadership and attention to detail set the tone for the entire property and experience. They have mastered the art of creating a home away from home—a space where comfort meets elegance, and every guest feels personally looked after. Juan Pablo took the time to welcome us on arrival and upon departure. Chapeau. Sofía Chaabi was fantastic and great at what she does. One of our highlights certainly. Everything is easy and smooth. Nothing is a problem for them. The food is world class, and for those who think it’s overpriced.. what do you expect Michelin starred food to be priced at?😂 The chefs are top. Not only the Spanish chef came personally to our restaurant able and introduced himself but also presented the menu changes. Reception team are flawless. The drivers are 10/10. Golf cars always at our service and with the best of smiles and attitudes. Housekeeping too. The spa kept booking us even last minute showing their ability to help the guests at very short notice. This time I had a massage and hamam experience with Soumaya and she’s truly exceptional at her craft. Thank you once again for making us feel home. Warm regards, N&J

Honest Review: Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay – Beautiful, But Far From the Royal Mansour Standard

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I want to share my most honest and detailed experience at Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay to help others decide whether this hotel truly deserves your time and money. The Good: Let’s start with what’s undeniable — the property is stunning. With only 55 rooms, it feels secluded and peaceful. The spa is exceptional, the gym is great, and the breakfast is honestly the best I’ve ever had — fresh, beautifully presented, and perfect in every way. The housekeeping and turn-down service are flawless, and the daily refreshed amenities plus a complimentary minibar are small luxuries that make a difference. The staff is kind and eager to please — but that’s where the praise stops. Behind the smiles lies a serious lack of training, structure, and leadership. The Reality: Unfortunately, the rest of our stay was a sequence of disappointments that simply shouldn’t happen in a property carrying the Royal Mansour name — a name that’s supposed to represent the absolute pinnacle of Moroccan hospitality. Communication before arrival was slow and disorganized. It took several emails to get answers, and they even had our arrival dates wrong, causing unnecessary stress days before our trip. Upon arrival at Tétouan Airport (which, by the way, is extremely basic — don’t expect any glamour), things went smoothly enough. But once you leave the hotel gates, you’re reminded that you’re in a completely different world — the area around the resort is not particularly appealing. We had booked and paid extra for a sea-view room, only to be given one that looked straight into another guest’s room with a barely visible sliver of sea. When we raised this, we were told an upgrade would cost €600 per night — an absurd request considering the already premium price. Thankfully, the manager later upgraded us to a better room, but the experience left a sour taste. Dining : A Complete Letdown The resort boasts three restaurants — French, Spanish, and Italian, with menus supposedly designed by Michelin-starred chefs, including the legendary Eric Frechon of Epicure. As someone who has dined at Epicure many times, I honestly cannot believe he would attach his name to what we experienced here. The French restaurant, La Table, was one of the worst fine-dining experiences I’ve ever had — bland food, poor execution, and service that felt completely lost. The Spanish and Italian options were no better; the Italian one was the least disappointing, but only by comparison. They proudly mention you can order Moroccan dishes in any of their restaurants since they don’t have a dedicated Moroccan venue. Huge mistake. We tried this at the Spanish restaurant — after two hours of waiting, no main courses ever arrived, and we left hungry. Staff had no idea what to do or how to handle the situation. It was chaotic and embarrassing for a hotel of this supposed level. And if that wasn’t enough, at the French restaurant, a server sprayed wine across the table and all over my husband’s white shirt and jacket while using a strange pouring device. To their credit, they handled the dry cleaning — but it’s a mistake that simply should never happen in a property of this caliber. Service & Management : Disorganized and Unsupervised Throughout the stay, service felt chaotic, uncoordinated, and painfully slow. Calling for a buggy was pointless — it either never arrived or took so long that walking was faster. During checkout, they came for our luggage but not for us, leaving us to walk to reception in the heat. Every staff member is polite and well-meaning, but there’s no visible supervision, no attention to detail, and no consistency. They constantly rush around reacting to problems instead of anticipating needs — not what you expect when paying this kind of price. Perhaps the most disappointing part was the absence of the general manager. He walked past several times but never approached us, even after multiple issues. For a property trading on the Royal Mansour reputation, that lack of accountability is unacceptable. Overall: Yes, Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay is physically beautiful, but beauty alone doesn’t justify the price or the brand name. It’s a hotel that desperately wants to belong to the Royal Mansour family but fails to meet even the basic standards that name represents. If this were a 4-star resort, I’d call it promising. But as a Royal Mansour? It’s nowhere near ready. Service is clumsy, dining is disappointing, and management feels absent. Until serious improvements are made — particularly in restaurant quality, staff training, and leadership — I cannot recommend this hotel. If you want a true Royal Mansour experience, go to Marrakech, where everything runs like clockwork and the restaurants are world-class. Summary: A stunning property with potential, ruined by poor management, subpar dining, and a lack of refinement. Sadly, it’s Royal Mansour in name only.

Outstanding choice for a beach holiday

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

A high end luxury hotel with fabulous rooms and staff who were outstanding. The attention to detail was extraordinary, and the styling impeccable. There is a gym . spa and health facilities which are extraordinary (although sometimes the staff were hard to find). Two small quibbles. The prices in the restaurants were astronomical, unreasonably so, and because there is nowhere else to go you are pretty trapped. And because the facilities such as golf (off site) were not well signposted with information in the rooms it felt that there was not quite enough to do if you did not want to sit by the pool/beach all day. But if you want a luxury beach holiday in Northern Morocco there is nowhere else you would want to be.

Unmatched Hospitality! World class Hotel 🌟

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

From the moment we arrived, the level of service was simply outstanding. Every member of staff we encountered was not only incredibly professional and attentive, but also warm, friendly, and genuinely caring. Their knowledge was impeccable – whether it was answering questions, offering suggestions, or anticipating our needs before we even voiced them. What stood out most was the consistency. No detail was overlooked, and every interaction left us feeling valued and completely taken care of. It’s rare to experience such flawless service across the board, but here, there truly were no faults. The surrounding landscape was absolutely breathtaking – a perfect complement to the elegance and serenity of the hotel itself. I’d say it’s one of the top 3 hotels in the world. The experience was nothing short of exceptional, and we left with memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime.
