About the Hotel

Set in an ancient land that dates back to biblical times, is a contemporary resort located hundreds of feet below sea level. Evason Ma'In Hot Springs & Six Senses Spa is the latest luxe sanctuary to make its way to Jordan. Its exterior purposely resembles a Middle Eastern village, but its interiors reveal a sleek, modern motif with wood beams and shuttered doors that slide back to reveal private balconies. There are less than 100 rooms at this intimate oasis, with a pair of elegant suites and a single honeymoon retreat that occupies the entire top floor. Amenities vary with each chamber, but include rain showers, butler service and well-stocked mini bars. The hotel's clifftop restaurant is where you can enjoy traditional Jordanian fare from your seat positioned on the floor. The wine bar offers an array of vintages and Arabic tapas, while the olive garden allows guests to press their own oil.

Not the hotel it once was

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This hotel is only getting away with charging the prices that it does because it is the only overnight option in the area. It's a disgrace really. I stayed here in 2020 and it was spotless, well kept and the service was great. Fast forward to 2025 and clearly there has been a change of management so although the original decor is still there and you can see that once upon a time it was lovely - it is now covered in dust, broken and badly needs renovating. I used the bathroom upon arrival and two of the cubicles were filthy and hadn't been checked for a while; there was no soap available or hand towels. The toilets available by the pool were no better with lights not working in some cubicles, taps that didn't work, no hand towels topped off with a lingering scent of urine. Why is nobody checking the facilities and keeping them clean? The mirrors in the elevators need a wipe as do the ones in the corridors, there were small puddles of water along the corridor outside our room and everywhere we went there was signs of aging and dilapidation. Our room was clean enough but the devil is in the details. Outside on the balcony were two red plastic chairs covered in bird muck, the phone inside was dusty and on the bathroom floor was some strange bubbly substance that appeared to have dripped down from the ceiling fan plus the tiles were gross and the sink cracked. On the desk were old marketing documents (including an empty folder) and something stating that the spa won an award....in 2015. I dread to think what the spa is like now. We got one towel each but there was no mat so took our chances after stepping out of the shower and the complimentary tea and coffee consisted of 3 tea bags, 3 Nescafe packets and one bottle of water (not replaced). The food is ok and the service is mediocre. Staff don't appear to have been trained and I would say the housekeeping have pretty low standards. The only reason to stay here would be to experience a cleaner hot pool because the public pool is filthy.

The Damn Springs: A Terrible Experience in Every Way ماعين اللعين: تجربة سيئة بكل المقاييس طوال العام

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Terrible experience year-round. No towels, no shower robes, unreliable electricity, filthy rooms, awful hospitality. Both The hotel rooms and pool is filthy, The hotel water flow has been neglected for over 30 years, damaged since I was a child, yet they still tell people it was recently damaged. Pipe replacements are a joke—like boiling needles. The hotel shuttle car is old and exhausted. Overpriced. Management is greedy, neglectful, and dishonest. Avoid at all costs. They will deceive you by claiming there are separate water flows for women, families, kids, and a mixed area—but it’s all a lie! All the water flows are terrible, feeling like needles, full of filth, urine, and disgusting green algae. The main flow is packed all day with daily-fee visitors, and no one moves to give you a chance. If you want to try it, you’ll be forced to stay in the filthy hotel and sneak into the main flow at night or once sunrise—without a robe, guaranteeing sickness after your visit. A complete waste of money and time. The room service staff are polite, but since the hotel management provides zero resources, they can't actually serve you. Pillows and bedding are uncomfortable, the AC is noisy and insufficient—keeping in mind they put me in what they called an 'executive room.' Ha!"**

Bad experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

Unfortunately, more than 3 hours after our arrival, we did not receive towels or bathrobes at all, and every half hour they told us a quarter of an hour, and towels and bathrobes would be delivered. The room was not fully equipped with items, with slow service and lack of cleanliness. Unfortunately, it is an experience that will not be repeated, and today is my wedding anniversary, and I feel bad for chossing this hotel

Having traveled widely, we have come to know a few places we like to call "heaven on earth" and this is definitely one of them! From using the therapeutic waters of the thermal springs, luxuriating under a gorgeous waterfall and allowing it to soothe our muscles with its lukewarm mineral rich jets of water, beautiful food, rainbows, starry nights... right up to the fantastic service offered by the friendly and extremely helpful General Manager and his team, every experience was heavenly! We look forward to going back in the near future.
