Gourmet meal in the hills of Machu Picchu

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

The gourmet dinner had at the Sumac hotel would rival a 5 star restaurant in New York or San Francisco. We had a tasting menu that was incredibly delicate. Each course was stand alone magnificent yet blended together. George was our waiter and he explained the courses and the fabulous wine that accompanied each course. It was one of the most memorable meals I have ever experienced. Don’t miss the gem.

Great dinner

We had a great dinner looking out on to the river. Our waiter George was excellent! Highly recommend! A vegan was in our group and they took amazing care of him. We really appreciated that attention to detail from the bread service to the dessert.

Amazing hotel close to Machu Picchu bus station

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Stay at this hotel as part of a tour group on our way to Machu Picchu (MP) ... it is a 5-10 minute walk to the MP bus station (bus takes 30 minutes to reach the top of MP). The hotel was beautiful, the room was clean, the service was exceptional and the food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) was amazing! The waiter, George, was very helpful and catered to all our dietary needs. Would definitely stay here again!!

Nice hotel but…

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

It’s a very beautiful hotel, but the massage I received was far too basic. That’s why, for the benefit of the hotel, my suggestion would be to discontinue this service. It lowers the overall hotel category, and it's hard to believe that, for such a low return, the hotel would risk its reputation.

Exceptional and friendly service. Quality experience!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The check in process was easy and included a chilled tea and damp wash rag upon arrival. Classy. The room exceptionally appointed and we had a view. Robes and slippers are always a nice touch. We had two tours set at Macchu Pichu and Sumaq prepared a yummy vegetarian box lunch. Dinner was a tasty experience and Milagros very attentive and informed about the selections. At the end of our trip, our bags were delivered to the train station. What an overall wonderful experience!!!!!
