This is one of my favorite hotels in Europe. The service is absolutely stellar. The staff are extraordinarily kind and attentive, with a wonderful attention to detail. One of the things that we love is that they have a “yes” attitude to everything - if you want something, they’ll do their best to make it happen. The food is delicious, and the 24hr room service was an incredible perk. The hotel is stunning, and it doesn’t suffer from poor upkeep like other older or converted buildings sometimes struggle with. Our room was spotless. And of course the location is wonderful too, right across the street from Retiro. Guillermo and Elba on the staff in particular were amazing - very positive and upbeat and did everything they could to make our stay easy and enjoyable. I really appreciate how the staff makes an effort to learn their guests and preferences - really a 5 star experience. We stayed here 10 years ago and it was as good of not better this time around, too. Will absolutely keep coming back. Thank you! Mil gracias!

My wife and I recently spent a month at the Hotel Palacio del Retiro. It was an exceptional experience. The congeniality and competence of the hotel team was matched by the intimacy and aesthetic quality of the setting. Some specific comments are called for. I apologize in advance for not retaining all of the names of the excellent hotel team members with whom we interacted. There is not one member about whom we could say anything negative. 1. Front Office & Concierge: This team was unfailingly positive, cheerful, and proactive. They assisted with humor and made our experience - from beginning to end - a true pleasure. Issabel, Jimena, Edie, Marcos, and Juan Luis deserve particular mention. But each person we dealt with met the same high standard of service. 2. Concierge/Porters: Pablo and Raul, as well as their other colleagues, went out of their way not just to perform the usual services associated with their position, but to provide us tips and guidance for maximizing our experience in Madrid. Although we know the city well, their guidance led us to many novel experiences. 3. Restaurant: The restaurant is small, intimate and soothing, directly facing Retiro Park. Mauro, Rosalba, Yaryles and Harry were instantly available to assist with any request. They were unfailingly encouraging and patient as we blundered through our limited Spanish. 4. Housekeeping: The quality of the Housekeeping team's service is simply excellent. The room was cleaned to a very high standard. Any telephoned request for additional service was responded to almost immediately. A great job. In short, we thank the management and staff of the Hotel Palacio for a delightful stay and look forward to our next visit.

First time staying at this hotel in Madrid. Great hotel, amazing ambiance. Love the decor and my room was perfect. Comfortable bedding, clean and spacious. Staff was great, very helpful and informative. Get the breakfast included, nice buffet as well as menu options. Location was 5-minute walk to Prado, 15 minutes to the Atocha Rail Station and a 25-minute walk to Plaza Mayor and the San Miguel Mercado. Will stay her my next trip to Madrid.

Easy to get to from the airport, if you take a cab. Central location to museums, restaurants, gran via, and Retiro. Loved this location. Coffee shops and bakeries abound. We rarely take the breakfast with the room as we prefer to sit outside and have a coffee and croissant or pastry to start the day. The best thing about the hotel was the most friendly staff. The front desk and bar staff were awesome. Thank you, if you read this, you made our stay wonderful.
