Located in Madrid's upmarket Salamanca district, the hotel is on a nice relatively quiet street with plenty of shops and restaurants within a 10 minute walking distance. The hotel itself is quite pleasant although I'd rate it more as a four star rather than a five star, and hence found it also too pricey. The staff is generally ok but one of the reasons I'd not rate this hotel as a five star. I found they lacked the attentiveness, and cordial receptiveness of other hotels of this calibre (except one of the doormen who was always very welcoming, friendly and perceptive) The breakfast is served in a lovely room/conservatory and the selection was great - yet again not the best service. There is also a quaint bar, and library room to chill. I am not sure whether there is a restaurant though as we didn't come across one and no one pointed it out to us. (And this is a rather small hotel) The room was generally clean - yet not spotless. The rooms were a decent size, with a very decent sized bathroom. Wasn't too keen on the toiletries though. I must emphasize I am being a bit overly critical as this is a 5 star and given the price we paid - which automatically leads you to expect the highest of standards.

Very comfortable bed.. service and breakfast was amazing. Sadly we went over Easter and The hotels 2 Michelin star restaurant was closed which I didn’t know at the time of booking the hotel!! The concierge couldn’t do enough to help organising taxis for us and recommending places for us to go. The bath tub needed updating but apart from that overall a lovely stay.

An excellent hotel made great by the staff. First, while many prefer the Gran Via area, Salamanca is less hectic, more upmarket, and has a neighborhood feel. Second, the public spaces - the bar, library, and gourmet restaurant/breakfast area are well-executed with a timeless modern look. Third, the rooms are adequately sized (for Madrid) with great linens and beds. The look isn't the newest (see the Thompson), but, again well-executed. The housekeeping was super. Fourth, as others have noted, the staff can't be beat. Everyone we encountered was friendly, knowledgeable, and on top of their game (particular kudos to Elena and Paola at reception and Miquel in the bar. Finally, for Madrid we found it to be an excellent value - especially with the ample, varied, and high-quality breakfast. We love Madrid and will stay again, it's a no-brainer

A lovely experience, service was impeccable, the food a fantastic experience, we appreciated that the chef came and talked with us twice :) We chose the wine pairing and the sommelier was excellent. The table are far enough from each other so it feels intimate and special. We had a great time and I highly recommend going there !

Had an amazing experience doing a whiskey tasting in the hotel bar. Very good value and education, with tapas and chocolate pairings. Rep was very informative and there was a lovely selection. Bar is very nicely decorated and in a wonderful area. Staff were super attentive. 10/10 would attend again.
