Reviews for Hotel Urban Madrid

Great smaller luxury hotel in the middle of old part of Madrid. Location was terrific!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 23 hours ago

This was the top option through a sports travel agent, and it was a good choice. A very good central location in the old part of Madrid city center, but very nice area full of nice restaurants and small wineries and tapas places. Close to Gran Via (2 min walk) and also down to the main boulevard and cross it and you were by Prado museum or the edge of the huge park. Nice and cool ambienze and atmosphere of the hotel. I really like this type of internal decoration and style. Small hotel but cozy. The bar is small, but also cozy. Very nice staff, and the front desk manager, "Pepe", was just as good as they should be. Perfect customer service minded and very nice. Room was the dark style that I like and very high up to the ceiling. Great space with closets and bathroom was big, with a seperated toilette and a bidet (who uses that these days??). Mini-bar was complementary and re-stocked daily. A HUGE selection of TV-channels, but only a handful in english. Nespresso machine for coffee. Did not have breakfast at the hotel, and did not try restaurant at all. Neither the bar. Went up top were the pool is, but could not find it, but a very small gym. See pic. Overall, a very good hotel and for the price it was deffinately worth it. Only little minus was that our window was facing just a wall with huge pipes for ventilation, I believe. So not that much light coming in, or not any view. See pic.

Enjoyed our stay at Urban

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This is a very lovely hotel in an excellent location in Madrid. We walked everywhere and the airport is only about a 25 minute cab ride. The service of the staff is wonderful - they truly make you feel valued - and Bryam made our stay very special with all his recommendations, directions and insight to the city!

Outstanding and Beautiful!

It was the first time staying at the Urban Hotel and it really exceeded my expectations. The service was excellent from the moment I arrived to the hotel. From the welcoming staff and all the hotel personnel were amazing and friendly. The room was Cousy and love the view to the city. The hotel is closed to all the amenities in Madrid and easy to navigate around. Hope to see you all again!

Time to refresh, otherwise excellent.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The complimentary chocolates made on premises were outstanding. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and offered a great selection. The location is excellent for walking and shopping. The lack of outdoor facing windows or any city views was disappointing - if those rooms exist, we were not offered any or given a choice. The room decor is not holding up well. It must have been stunning 10 years ago, but not any more. The 20th century bidet and egg shaped (elongated sideways) toilet are both odd and old already. Metal finishes are worn and tired. What looks like a VERY expensive buildout has not aged well. If it was a car, I would have traded it in for new years ago. Common areas are better, but the rooms are tired. I would ask if there are more recently updated rooms or rooms with exterior windows or a view when booking. What I was told was a Hilton Diamond Member upgrade when we checked in did not wow me. This is a very good hotel otherwise.

We have traveled numerous times to Spain's capital city, but this was a unique experience. Hotel Urban is not only a five-star hotel but one that possesses the utmost class. We were handled with service that cannot be fully described, and everywhere we turned there was style and statement. We consider Hotel Urban our home away from home.
