Great service

A beautiful stay in a perfect location in central Madrid. The staff went above and beyond. Great breakfast, and they delighted my children with little gifts, such as a Real Madrid water bottle. Super helpful concierge, too.

Wonderful Stay at Palacio de Los Duques

We had a wonderful three-night stay at the Palacio de los Duques Gran Meliá. The location is perfect. It's just a few minutes from the Royal Palace, the Sabatini Gardens, the Mercado de San Miguel, and La Latina. The service truly stood out - everyone was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of fresh fruit, eggs, and pastries. We especially loved the rooftop, which has incredible views. While it was a bit too cool to swim, we still enjoyed the hot tub and drinks at the bar. Our room was comfortable and beautifully appointed. We upgraded to two connecting rooms, which worked perfectly for our family. Our daughter had her own room and bathroom next door. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily return!

Top notch.

As usual an excellent stay, and this time was able to compare with another hotel in area as when my husband joined me we went to another hotel he wanted to try, the Thompson. Arrived in morning so upgraded to a suite since was very tired and that room was ready. Stayed only for 2 nights but room was massive, bed was soft, bathroom could be bigger but worked for me. Air conditioning and heat worked great. As usual stayed at Red Level room so used the lounge and very nice. Buffet breakfast very very nice, one of my favorites in the world. But the best part is always the service. Top notch consistently. This is overall a much better hotel than Thompson, better service, better food. Will be back when in Madrid.

My favourite hotel in Madrid

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

My stay at Hotel Palacio de los Duques was truly exceptional from beginning to end. The hotel offers a perfect balance of elegance, comfort, and tranquility, with beautifully designed spaces that reflect both its historic character and modern sophistication. From the moment you arrive, there is a genuine sense of care and attention that makes you feel completely at ease. One aspect that truly stood out was how welcoming the hotel is—even for guests traveling with pets. My puppy Atome was treated with such kindness and attention, which made the experience even more special and stress-free. The Red Level experience was a highlight, with excellent food, refined presentation, and a peaceful terrace that creates the perfect setting to relax and enjoy every moment. The overall atmosphere throughout the hotel is calm, luxurious, and thoughtfully curated. The spa was another memorable part of my stay. I had a Thai massage with Champouh, which was incredibly relaxing—so much so that I even fell asleep. It was a deeply restorative experience and a true highlight. A special mention must go to José Gutierrez, who made the stay truly exceptional. His professionalism, warmth, and genuine attentiveness set him apart. He consistently anticipated needs and ensured that everything was seamless, creating a personalized and memorable experience. His suggestions were spot on! If there is one area for improvement, it would be the elevator situation, which can be a bit challenging during busy times. Overall, this hotel delivers a refined, welcoming, and high-quality experience. I would absolutely return.

Perfection in every way!

We chose this hotel as a special trip to celebrate a wedding anniversary and big birthday. We chose this hotel due to other reviews and we were not disappointed. The location is perfect for exploring on foot, via the Metro or the main train line. The hotel is stunning with huge Velazquez paintings in every place possible. The dining areas, bar, rooftop and reception are beautifully maintained. We opted for red level and were blown away, not just by the comfortable and spacious room (luxury bed, his & her bathroom and his & her wardrobes), but by the impeccable service too. From being greeted at the door, checked-in by the super-helpful Jose, looked after by the lovely Jordan at breakfast, and every member of concierge helping with our specific requirements. In fact, it’s all the wonderful staff that make this hotel exceptional! With Red level - the complimentary buffet-style food, and freshly cooked breakfasts (cooked to order) were varied and very tasty. They catered for my gluten intolerance with no issues at all. This along with the complimentary bar (soft drinks, hot drinks and alcoholic drinks) private dining areas, private garden area and dedicated staff makes the upgrade worth every penny. We were offered the use of an Audi car or private transfer too, but chose to explore ourselves. To pop the cherry on top, we were given a bottle of bubbly, chocolate covered strawberries and cake on both our anniversary and my husband’s birthday - left in our room with thoughtful personalised wishes. What more could you wish for? The hotel itself is stunning, but every member of staff going above and beyond is what will bring us back in the future. Thank you to everyone for making our stay a fabulous one!
