Reviews for Petit Palace Savoy Alfonso XII

An aesthetic nightmare – zero comfort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

The interior design of this hotel is a disaster. The paintwork on the wall above the bed is hideous; it’s done with such poor taste that it’s actually nauseating. The use of oversized typography is completely out of place and looks tacky. There is absolutely no coziness here. The color palette is jarring, and the furniture feels incredibly cheap. It’s impossible to feel relaxed in such an ugly environment. Cheep flooring, already cracked in many places

Do yourself a favor, don't stay in this overpriced hostel.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This is a hostel, not a 4 star hotel. So basically you pay for a 4 star hotel and get a hostel. Overall, super cheap looking, furniture is not even ikea, ugly decorated, dated... It is in desperate need of an overall upgrade. People at the reception are not even nice. The two sofas at the common area are old and dirty. The whole hotel looks cheap, dirty and dated. The only nice room of the hotel is off-limits to hotel guests (!!!!). The breakfast area is dungy and dark. Except for eggs a la carte and a great selection of fresh fruit, everything else is processed. Worst experience ever. Not even the park in front saves this hostel. Can't understand the good reviews, don't stay there.

Excellent value central hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This is an excellent central hotel - right opposite Retiro Park, close to shopping in Barrio Salamanca and the three great art galleries of Madrid Good sized room and comfortable bed. Kettle and minibar. Good bathroom and shower. Excellent breakfast buffet with charming service. Altogether good value for money for a very central very comfortable hotel.

A warm friendly welcome, very helpful, great rooms, fantastic showers, breakfast great choice from cooked to continental, great little bar and choice of snacks, but all the staff were amazing in every department. Highly recommend

Absolutely wonderful hotel in Madrid!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Located directly across the street from Retiro Park, which is the most beautiful park! Check in was quick and easy, the guest room was specious and in a very quiet area of the hotel. Comfortable bed, pillows and plenty of amenities in the bathroom area. The breakfast was fantastic! Plenty of choices to start your day. You can request specially made omelets which the kitchen quickly makes and is served with a smile. When we needed a taxi, the hotel secured one in a blink of an eye. Walked during the day and at night, never felt unsafe, as the hotel is surrounded by luxury residential buildings. An added bonus was the bottled water left each night at no cost. A gem of a hotel in a great, great area!
