This is my fourth time staying at this hotel and I’ll be back again! The staff is very gracious and welcoming, my room (facing the Retiro park) was immaculate and well appointed. The breakfast is fantastic with a delicious surprising new addition each day. And the location is superbe!

Our company chose this hotel for its proximity to our work venue for the week. Location is ideal. Staff is professional. Breakfast is great. The price is high and I was surprised by features associated with low cost hotels. A. Hangers that are "anti theft" and hard to hang clothes on. B. Dirty and tiny ironing board C. Low quality furniture and decor D. If you wanted to use the safe you had to pay with a credit card E. Bare minimum toiletries All this is associated with low cost hotels and we paid $350-$450/ night for a small bedroom no view. That is why my review is 3 at most.

Helpful staff, central location & outstanding breakfast! Very helpful reception staff re handling questions, directions, extra milk for room etc. Location is right opposite the Retiro and 10 minute walk to the Thyssen gallery, which was amazing btw. Exhibition of Hammershoi paintings was just gorgeous and included in the entrance price.

1.Dog friendly it’s not. 2.Restaurant is a joke, it’s a breakfast bar and a very good one at that but it’s not a restaurant. Dogs not allowed. We dined at the Mandarin Ritz who incidentally welcomed our dog into their restaurant. 3. After travelling 5 hours to get here the staff gave a parking recommendation that’s been closed for months and we see previous reviews mentioning this. There is no close parking to this hotel and because they don’t monitor the outside hotel drop off you can’t unload or load your car. 4. Lovely shower spoilt by a considerably dangerous slippery floor. Bath towels are some of the best quality we have experienced. 5. Well priced mini bar and breakfast. Would stay again and hope there are improvements made as this is a 4 star Hotel.

I chose this hotel carefully being a 50+ woman travelling alone. I did not want anything noisy or busy right in the Grand Via. Hotel location was perfect for me - across from the park, handy to the Prado, few minutes walk to many restaurants etc. The room was spacious with small fridge and kettle. There was a tiny balcony with opening doors for fresh air. The decor was a bit sparse but then that's the trend in some hotels. The shower floor was extremely slippery and I had to put the bath mat in the shower to stand on. Breakfast was impressive (probably the best buffet I had on my trip) and the staff friendly. Desk staff were helpful as well. There was no card swipe thing to access hotel floors so anybody could have walked in and walked around the corridors by the rooms. Unless they have security watching CCTV all the time? Madrid is expensive and I got a good deal through the Tripster Club. I did enjoy staying here but I would chose somewhere else next time.
