The Principal Rank: 3 StarMatch: Below. Location: Very well located in Madrid but on a busy street. There is nothing wrong with the hotel but it does not match it's image on its homepage or reviews ie: it is not a really amazing boutique hotel.

Lovely boutique hotel centrally located in Madrid.
Very lovely boutique hotel. We were looking for a highly rated unique hotel centrally located in the heart of Madrid. We were not interested in commercial chain type hotels. The Principal met and exceeded our expectations. The room was very comfortable. They upgraded to a larger room since there were three of us. Bedding, bathroom and cleanliness were all excellent. The breakfast was included with a promotion and was also excellent but I would not have spent $22 euros pp without the promotion. We walked to many of the important sites as it’s a very good walking city. Although not an inexpensive hotel, I would still highly recommend for a quite, personal, clean and elegant experience.

The best hotel in Madrid
Wonderful hotel staff and super accommodating. The hotel itself is also beautiful including the decor and views. I had a wonderful experience and would choose it again.

Will always stay at The Principal while visiting Madrid and always enjoyed their superior service and location. Most accommodating staff, paired with photo-op views and well appointed rooms adds to an unforgettable stay.
