The Principal Madrid Hotel

This is a wonderful hotel because of its A) central location--20 min walk from EVERYWHERE COOL in downtown Madrid--Prado, Retiro Park, Plaza Mayor, restaurant districts both just north and just south--also, windows and blinds keep rooms quiet and dark B) beds are perfect not to hard or soft, great sleeps.. C) service from front desk to cleaners to bar staff to restaurant waiters was top notch D) surprisingly, our best meal in Madrid all week was the tasting menu at the restaurant here, Atico (hotel food not known for being A+ anywhere), and as a bonus for us Canadians, there was a Tim Hortons right across the street from the hotel. We spent several late afternoons on the sunny 6th floor outside deck recounting our walks through the different neighbourhoods--so relaxing. AC worked great, shower had lots of pressure---everything you would expect from a hotel like this.

Very nice hotel on a perfect location. Lovely staff, high end service. Especially in the wonderful restaurant, great food and wine and perfect service by Romeo and Edrey! Thank you, my daughter and I had an excellent stay!

Exceptional hotel. Small and perfect. Spanish authenticity with internationally excellent standard of service. Incredible personal service from greeting us at the airport to dinner, breakfast and the thoughtful housekeeping. Excellent location for easy walking distance of most attractions and restaurants too.

Our stay at The Principal was great. Everyone at the hotel was very accommodating and the location is perfect. The food and snacks on the terrace were excellent and Sergio made us feel taken care of the whole time. Would definitely be back

Perfect location- walking distance to all the downtown sites. Rooms were spacious and lovey. The rooftop deck and terraces offered the best views and service for great happy hours. Rafael took great care of our entire family
