Location was good for us. The hotel ambiance and design were beautiful. Room space and size excellent. Some negatives: Reception staff not so welcoming and not here to help Room cleaning not great, especially on the bathroom side as we could spot hair accumulation on corners between wall and door. No information what so ever on the changing of begunning of breakfast. Apparently switch to summer time happened and no one informed us in advance. We were supposed to go on a trip early in the morning. No one offered a solution for a rake away. What a shame !🙁 During worl cup final to watch the game they told us in the bars that you can not reserve seats. We then arrive early but many front seats were reserved. How can this happen, a double standard that we did not appreciate

Hassle free stay!

Great location close to the centre and with lots of local bars and restaurants within walking distance. Staff were friendly and the hotel was great.

Walkable location and great hotel.

W found the location to be very central while avoiding most of the hustle and bustle. Saska, at the front desk, was able to recommend great venues for our day out that only locals would know. Thank you Saska

Extremely poor customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The customer service can only be described as appalling. I had to cancel a reservation as my travel plans changed. I had to travel to Barcelona instead of Madrid on the planned dates. I was told in writing that if I booked the Radisson in Barcelona my booking from the Radisson Madrid hotel would be refunded. This was back in April. Three months later and I am still awaiting the refund. Emails to the hotel are constantly ignored, I am fobbed off on the rare occasion I manage to actually get to speak to somebody at reception. I have Radisson VIP status due to the number of business trips that I make but am seriously considering looking at other hotel options which is disappointing as I have had mostly positive experiences at other hotels within the Radisson group. Massive failings in their attitude to customer service.

The service standards and staff supervision at this hotel are not managed effectively enough.

A pleasant hotel stay is often defined by many small details, but above all by the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff. Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was disappointing from the very beginning. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the places we planned to visit. However, upon arrival, the automatic entrance doors would not open, and we were forced to wait until other guests exited the building before we could enter. This happened despite a young concierge standing inside near the entrance, who made no effort to assist us. At reception, the staff member was unable to locate our reservation, even though it had been made through Booking.com. Rather than asking for additional identifying information, such as the booking reference number or confirmation email, the receptionist simply stated that the reservation could not be found. The lobby itself was quite small, yet several administrative staff members were occupying seats around the reception desk. This created an unprofessional impression and made the area feel unnecessarily crowded. An employee escorted us to the elevator but failed to explain how to use the key card to operate it. He quickly walked away before we had the opportunity to ask any questions. The following day, we asked the reception desk to call a taxi. Instead of assisting us, the staff member vaguely informed us that there was a taxi stand somewhere down the street and suggested that if we could not find it, we could return and ask again. Another employee standing nearby, who appeared to be a member of the management or administrative team, did not intervene or offer any assistance. In reality, the taxi stand was located on the opposite side of the street and around the corner, some distance away. Having to search for it in the heat, without clear directions and while under time pressure, was both inconvenient and unacceptable. The breakfast experience was equally disappointing. The selection of food was limited, several tables had not been cleared. Despite there being plenty of vacant tables available, we were not offered the option of choosing our own table and were instead directed to a specific one. This felt unnecessarily restrictive and somewhat diminished the overall breakfast experience. Overall, it appeared that there was very little supervision of staff and insufficient emphasis on customer service and guest care. There was also a tall man in a suit who was frequently standing near the reception desk. He appeared to be observing the staff, yet he never offered assistance to guests or took any visible steps to improve the situations we encountered. In general, we did not enjoy our stay. This was one of the rare occasions when we regretted our booking almost immediately after arrival. Based on our experience, we would not choose to stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to travelers who value attentive service and professional hospitality.
