Reviews for Rosewood Villa Magna

Farewell

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

It is always with composure that one observes, and only after due reflection that one speaks. During breakfast at Rosewood Villa Magna, several regrettable deficiencies became apparent. Coffee was presented with visible grounds remaining in the cup — an oversight that should not occur in any establishment professing excellence. Pancakes were served undercooked, not once, but twice, the interior unmistakably raw. Such repetition suggests not accident, but lapse in supervision. The poached vegetables — a preparation of admirable simplicity — arrived burdened with an extraordinary excess of salt. One is left perplexed that a dish so elementary could be rendered so unbalanced. Most concerning, however, was that dissatisfaction was not confined to a single table. Guests seated opposite were likewise engaged in discussion with staff regarding the preparation of their own order. It is never agreeable to witness fellow patrons compelled to question what should have been delivered with quiet competence. Luxury rests not upon grandeur alone, but upon consistency, discretion, and the faithful execution of fundamentals. When the simplest elements falter — coffee, batter, seasoning — the greater promise of refinement is inevitably diminished. One trusts that renewed attention to discipline within the kitchen will restore the standard befitting such a distinguished address.

My favorite hotel in the city! The location is spectacular, in Salamanca, next to the best restaurants and shops. The service is great, the room is very comfortable, pleasant and beautiful. The breakfast is incredible, with buffet and à la carte options. I love the special artwork in the hotel.

Incredible Customer Service!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

We had the most amazing stay at Rosewood Villa Magna! First of all, the property is absolutely gorgeous. The full renovation of the hotel is stunning, from the beautiful guest rooms to the lovely bar and restaurant. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the delightful patio. Also, the location is unbeatable, as the hotel is surrounded by countless luxury stores, charming boutiques, and wonderful restaurants. But even more impressive than the hotel itself was the incredible customer service that we received. On our last evening around 11 PM, while packing for a 6 AM flight, I was shocked to find that my passport was missing. After a stressful hour of re-tracing our steps, I realized that the tax-refund agent at El Cortes Ingles (department store across the street) must not have returned my passport as we hurried out to dinner. We asked the Rosewood concierge Pablo Ayuso if he could help, and he gladly told us that he would see what he could do but cautioned that the store had closed for the night. As we continued to worry about how to re-schedule our flight and find the US embassy, Pablo unbelievably returned with the missing passport! He explained that he had contacted the overnight security at the store and somehow managed to find it. We were so grateful that Mr. Ayuso had been willing to go the extra mile to help us in our desperate situation (and what hotel has a concierge working at midnight anyway?!?). We celebrated with a night cap at the bar, and they even re-opened the kitchen to prepare a snack. We were absolutely blown away by the kindness and efficiency of Mr. Ayuso and the entire late-night staff. Thank you so very much!
