Hotel Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I recently spent a lovely day pass at the Kempinski Hotel with my friend, and our experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. We began our morning with breakfast at Café Lazare, where the team made us feel warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. We were greeted by Shirley, who was incredibly kind, polite, and professional. The level of hospitality from the entire team was beyond expectations. A special thank you to Chantal, Rona, Amelie, Mercia, Nelly, Emma, and Chef Daniel for the delicious omelette. And last but definitely not least, Chef Norita, who came to our table with a basket of fresh muffins and the biggest smile, kindly asking if we would like one — such a thoughtful and memorable touch. For lunch, we went to Windsong, where we were served by the lovely Ms. Babrha, who was very kind and attentive throughout our meal. A special thank you as well to Chef Emad, who kindly came to check on us and make sure everything was perfect. The hotel has a completely different touch from the others; from breakfast until the moment you leave, you truly feel valued and cared for. The teams at Café Lazare and Windsong are simply amazing. Every single person contributed in their own way to making our experience special, and their genuine care and positive energy truly stood out. Thank you all for the incredible service and warm hospitality. You are a fantastic team, and we cannot wait to visit again!

Not up to par

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I was really disappointed with our stay at Kempinski. From the very first day, we felt unhappy with the hotel and politely raised our concerns with the staff. We asked if it would be possible to get a refund for the remaining nights so we could move elsewhere, but the front desk was dismissive and seemed completely uninterested in helping. I was told a manager would contact me, but no one ever did. I ended up having to chase them myself after waiting over 10 hours, which was frustrating and unprofessional. The food was also a letdown. It was the most expensive of all the places we visited, yet very average-nothing special at all. On one occasion, my curry was extremely salty. When I mentioned this after paying, the staff didn’t respond or acknowledge it in any way, which felt quite rude. That said, there were a couple of positives. Housekeeping was excellent and very efficient and clearly working around the clock. The spa was also a highlight, especially the Coco de Mer journey, which was a great experience. Hiking Mount Kempinski was enjoyable as well. Overall, while there are a few good aspects, the poor attitude from management and reception staff really overshadowed the experience. For the price, you can definitely find much better service and facilities elsewhere.

Beautiful accom and staff - BUT - Meals and drinks are overpriced and disappointing.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Large well-appointed exotic rooms, beautiful gardens and landscaping, stunning beach, friendly helpful smiling staff. Breakfast buffet is fabulous, especially fresh pastries from the head baker. BUT Meals and drinks are over-priced (double + on what you are expecting). Café Lazare restaurant dinner is only a buffet for USD100, and Windsong affordable dinners are mainly lunch-style poké bowl, salads, creole curry and burgers. Fish and steak is too expensive to order USD90+. I cook better at home. Staff are friendly and quick to seat and order, but don't follow up with attention, clearing plates, seeking more orders. I refused to pay for a cold fish & chips and a sloppy cold burger, both USD40 each. A menu rotation or more specials would be in order for variety. We stayed 5 nights, but after 3 we were over the menu. The good news is that there is no tipping, and the staff are adorable.
