Extremely Disappointing – Not Even Worth 3 Stars

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I had high expectations for this hotel, but the experience was a complete disappointment from start to finish. The facilities are outdated and poorly maintained. The food at Café Lazare was well below average — bland, uninspired, and certainly not worth the price. What made things worse was the unprofessional and unfriendly attitude of some waiters. No smiles, no greetings, and absolutely no sense of hospitality. It felt like we were bothering them by simply asking questions or requesting basic service. To top it all off, the swimming pool was closed during our stay with no prior notice or apology — despite it being one of the main reasons we booked this hotel. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. Overall, this was a complete waste of money. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It doesn’t live up to its star rating — not even close to 3 stars, let alone the luxury they try to market. Avoid if you’re expecting any level of quality, service, or value for money.

Windsong Restaurant - A Must

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We went there to eat as part of our, and from the moment we entered the staff were great. From Yulia on reception explaining the different restaurants, to how friendly all the staff were at the WindSong restaurant (Adel and Octar were wonderful). The best part was chef Aron who created an amazing vegan dish upon request. Definitely recommended and thanks to all.

Secluded Resort

The Kempinski Resort, set in lush surroundings hugged by a beautiful sandy beach this resort is a perfect location to unwind and relax. The rooms are spacious and cleaned to a good standard, with options to have bedding and towels changed everyday, should you wish to do so. They also promote sustainability concerning the amount of washing of bedding and towels, which is always great to see. The beach and pool area is comfortable with extra large beach towels provided and a bar staffed by friendly and attentive members of staff. There are 2 main restaurants on site with a bar area in the main building where you can also order food. The staff in the Planters bar are always welcoming and friendly, a thank you to Tamara who was delightful. The Windsong restaurant has a wide selection of choice and the staff are very helpful which it comes to choosing, especially if you have an allergy like myself. Thank you to Barbrha who was fantastic. The main restaurant, Cafe Lazare is buffet style with daily themes. We found this slightly over priced for what was on offer, but if you are big eaters you will get your monies worth. A pop up Bottega Bar opened whilst we were staying and they offer packages for canapés and prosecco. This was the only option on offer here and sadly over priced. It would be great if you could have a few glasses of Prosecco to start your evening off in this bar, but sadly not an option. Overall a lovely resort and the staff are what make this possible, the ladies in red (famous to the Kempinski brand) are the concierge team, always on hand to help and assist. We had a slight issue which was dealt with promptly, followed by a lovely apology and a gift of chocolates and fruit.

Good but pricey for the experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Good hotel, a bit pricey for the service. - Amazing breakfast - Very nice location - Paddle field Service could be better (housekeeping knocking to see if you want room service at night..) Breakfast time, I have been asked to change my dress because I was wearing a beach dress. The very next day, I see ladies wearing barely their swim bikinis coming in (not a problem for me obviously) and nobody spoke to them. The only nice ones are Kenny for the hike and the chef suggesting muffins in the morning and the guy with the luggage. But all in all not the friendliest staff after trying 6 different hotels in Seychelles
