This hotel is a grower.. we really liked the laid back feel of the hotel. The rooms are well appointed although note that each room has a dehumidifier and the rooms smell a little damp. Not sure if this is a function of the climate or feature of the rooms. The staff are mixed - either delightful such as barbrah in windsong restaurant and Khartik who served at breakfast or a bit sullen. Bar staff at Planters also deserve a shout out as lovely. We loved the fact that the pool joins onto the beach and there were plenty of sun beds and we always found it easy to get one. The one thing to note is that the cost of food and drinks is eye-watering (and we live in the Middle East so are used to high prices). The creole food in windsong is super good and worth it. We had a fantastically relaxing holiday and despite the F&B prices we will be back!

My partner and I wanted a comfortable high-end beach resort holiday for a pre-Christmas escape from the cold, wet UK. We chose The Kempinski Seychelles Resort after briefly visiting Baie Lazare on a tour the previous year. The location is a beautiful bay surrounded by forested hills and blessed with a reef which tamed the larger waves, making the lagoon easily accessible for snorkelling. Our room was an "Ocean View". They are really well designed with enough space. Everything you need and nothing you don't. We didn't hear any noise from neighbouring rooms and none of the balconies are overlooked. Housekeeping was good, with frequent replacement towels and discrete timing. The beach is long and there are a lot of loungers. The only negative is that we found many guests would "reserve" loungers for the day by placing towels etc on them long before they were ready for the beach. The daytime shade was in shorter supply than the loungers, so people are tempted to "bag" the best spots. Snorkelling equipment can be borrowed from the beach "activity centre". The snorkelling is fairly good at high tide. Nothing like the Maldives but there's a reasonable selection of fish around and visibility was quite good. We were on a bed & breakfast tariff so we had breakfast in Café Lazare, which is buffet style. There are 148 rooms so it can get quite busy during the last hour of service. We spent most lunch and evening meals at the beachside restaurant "Windsong", which we loved. The setting is beautiful; the menu is diverse and comprehensive. We had around twenty meals there over a two-week stay, and never tired of the menu options. The staff really looked after us well. Thanks in particular to Okta, Barbrha, Mary-Anna, Yvonne, Lufti, Fabrice and Sher who all made our stay special. Special thanks to Okta for saving a perfect table for our last night. We also thoroughly enjoyed The Planters Bar for "Happy Hour" before dinner. The live music was great every night. Special thanks to Rama and Jefri for looking after us there. In summary we would say that the location, setting and facilities are five-star. Some elements are more four-star, such as the breakfast service and a few other inconsistencies but we thought it was very good value. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend it to our friends.

The hotel is located on a beautiful beach right next to the coral reef. There is also a mountain you can climb. A lot of White life in the hotel as well that you can observe. There was even a turtle nesting. Most staff is extremely pleasant. Rooms are extremely generous and I absolutely loved my bed and super size bathroom. Go and snorkel there in high tide. Avoid low tide . I wish that hotel would partially protect the reef by making a small reserve which shouldn’t be accessible. There is a coral nursery which is a must see when you snorkel. Ask the lifeguard and it will be directed. Dumindu Nisansala was absolutely amazing/ he even offered his camera so I could take pictures while snorkelling Sarita Devi is a superstar and will help you with all queries
