I would not stay here again, even if offered a complimentary room. The primary purpose of any hotel is to provide a restful night’s sleep—a basic expectation this property entirely failed to meet. While the hotel lists air conditioning as an amenity, management artificially throttles the climate control systems, preventing the room from dropping below 23°C. Despite outside nighttime temperatures dipping to 14°C, our room remained trapped at a stifling 23°C and higher—a fact verified using a precision travel thermometer. Consequently, both nights were marked by uncomfortably hot conditions, chronic sleep disruption, and sweating. We left more tired than when we arrived after our flight from the West Coast of Canada. This practice represents intentional greenwashing and cost-cutting at the direct expense of guest comfort, directly contradicting the amenities promised at booking. For context, leading clinical organizations—including the National Sleep Foundation and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine—recommend a bedroom temperature between 15.5°C and 19.4°C, with 18°C widely established as the physiological optimum for restorative rest. Operating rooms at temperatures far exceeding these medical standards while advertising functional AC is misleading and unacceptable.

Be careful with the reservation. Focus on the breakfast, it is not in the room-price. You can get 78 EUR bill - Bellpepper Restaurant... On the first evening the restaurant was reserved for private party. On the second evening we spend our time in the Rheingoldhalle on our business event. But we got the Bellpepper bill - for nothing.

I stayed there for six months and had a wonderful experience with everyone—from the front desk and bar and restaurant staff to housekeeping and management. I would be remiss to name individual employees and risk forgetting someone who contributed to making my stay so enjoyable.

An excellent hotel in an excellent location right next to the river. Lovely restaurant with river views and an extensive breakfast. It is interesting to see the chefs at work. Very comfortable bedroom with working Air Con. Bathroom had both a bath and a shower. Nice to sit in the bar (or on the terrace) at the end of the day.

If visiting Mainz, GE, this is the only place to stay! The atmosphere, location, service, food, location to local attractions, and amenities' cannot be matched by any other Hotel on the Rhine River.
