Peaceful hideaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

It’s a lovely place but a little rundown - rotting wood on the fence posts, pool area needs cleaning and mosquito spraying, some pieces missing from room furniture, etc.. Classes were great but only one or two a day. Restaurant was closed for dinner and it would have been good to know before I arrived as I would have rented a car. All in all a nice place but needs a little sprucing up and some more programming.

Perfect, soul restoring retreat

My stay at Lumeria is hard to put into words! Unbelievably beautiful grounds, fascinating history, kind, helpful staff, great food and space for yoga. Also a great spot from which to visit nearby Upcountry towns. Grateful for every moment and hope to come back.

Extraordinarily beautiful and tranquil setting but not necessarily a welcoming vibe

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

This is an extraordinary setting - the grounds are beautiful and serene, the architecture and interior decor are perfectly matched to the setting, and we love the amenities (that pool and spa!). But ... for whatever the reason ... the folks who stay aren't terribly friendly. Our friends who came with us pointed out that - with the exception of one father of a family of 4 - no one we encountered bothered to smile, wave or even look up to greet anyone. Even the person working in the kitchen was somewhat reluctant to engage. The most friendly people are the staff at the reception and the gardeners. That's a disappointment because now that our friends pointed this out - we're not too sure about returning.
