Anantara Veli Maldives Resort

Our family came back to Anantara for the second December in a row - this time we opted to stay in their (18 and above) Veli property instead of Dhigu. Nevertheless we still enjoyed the best of both worlds - the peace and beauty of Veli island and the amazing culinary options at Cumin and Baan Hura were complemented by the bustling atmosphere in Dhigu with its many activities including the wonderful Christmas lights ceremony and the Aquafanatics sunset dolphin cruise. Our stay was made truly memorable by our terrific villa host, Phyu who was genuine, warm and truly welcoming. Our requests were dealt with so quickly and with such professionalism - we wonder if she ever got any sleep while looking after us. We look forward to coming back to Veli just to have Phyu as our villa host again. Logu and his amazing team at Cumin gave us incredible food and fantastic personal service. The Friday kebab nights at Cumin are a highlight. Ramu at Aqua Bar even remembered our children’s favourite bolognese pasta from 2024 and it was just as delicious this year. And our stay would not have been the same without the awesome Adam who was the room boy for both our over water villas - we loved his personal touches such as the nightly handwritten messages on leaves and he was so kind to our family. A new highlight for us this year was the sunset cruise which brought us up close with the dolphins living in a nearby lagoon - such a magical experience to see them swimming so close and jumping & spinning in the air. Highly recommend the Anantara Veli - in particular, the overwater villas facing Hermit Crab island. Will definitely return (again).

I had an amazing time staying at Veli with my family. The island and the villas are beautiful, and the staff are great - always going above and beyond. Huge thanks to Logu, Ramu, Adam, Bokey, Paula, Phyu, and Rilwan for making our stay so memorable. The Christmas lighting ceremony with the traditional Maldivian boduberu performance was great as well.

Service was wonderful, especially from Faz (our concierge), Lyss at breakfast at Cumin, Kamal by the pool at Dhonin, Midhun the personal trainer, Nevika the myofascial expert at the spa, the housekeeping team and the pontoon drivers! The Thai food throughout the resort was fabulous. The only downside was the food at Aqua (Italian) was mediocre - fish overcooked. Origami was very overpriced relative to the quality. Lunch at Dhoni was delicious, so was breakfast at Cumin. The wellness events were plentiful and really good. Thank you overall for a great stay!

Our stay at Anantara Veli Maldives Resort and Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort was truly a lifetime experience. Both islands are incredibly beautiful — crystal-clear turquoise water, soft white sand, and a peaceful, luxurious atmosphere that feels like paradise from the moment you arrive. The dining options were world-class. We absolutely loved: • Origami (Japanese restaurant) • Baan Huraa (Thai restaurant) • Cumin, Fushi Café and Dhoni Every meal was delicious, well-presented, and full of flavour. What truly made our stay special was the exceptional staff. Every guest is assigned a personal host, and ours — Faz — was like family. She took care of every request with so much warmth and attention that we never had to worry about anything. We were initially afraid to try snorkeling, but the team made it safe and unforgettable. Lifeguard Shambhu patiently guided us and helped us overcome our fear. Mr. Jallu, who accompanied us as security, was incredibly caring and thoughtful — even serving us drinks after the snorkeling session. A very special mention to the Coconut Guru — a truly hardworking and passionate person. He served us fresh coconuts beautifully presented with a hibiscus flower, and his energy, smile, and dedication added such a lovely local touch to our experience 🌺🥥 It’s difficult to name everyone because each and every staff member deserves appreciation, but we would also like to thank: • Ram, who was always kind and welcoming • Mr. Jinan, the gentleman manager at Dhigu, who personally ensured our comfort whenever we visited from Veli • Mr. David, the Island In-Charge, who genuinely cares for guests and runs the island with heart and perfection We are deeply thankful to the entire Anantara team for treating us with such warmth, care, and respect. This was not just a holiday — it was an emotional and beautiful experience that we will cherish forever. We truly hope to return again someday.
