In the local dialect of these magically far-flung strings of sand in the middle of the Indian Ocean, Huvafen Fushi Maldives means "dream island." Surely this can't be real: schools of fish darting through translucent water in the lagoon under your bed, an expanse of stars upstaged by a glowing blue sea of bioluminescent phytoplankton, fresh dragonfruit picked especially for you. This is paradise at its most avant-garde.

We had an amazing time - this was our 4th time - we did look at going to another island in the Maldives but decided that we loved our time at Huvafen Fushi so much that to go anywhere would be so wrong. We are already planning our 2027 visit. The staff were amazing, the food was outstanding and the peace and calm unrivalled. Nothing was too much, everything was done to make us feel valued and welcome.

I could wax lyrical all day long about Huvafen Fushi. We stayed in a Deluxe Beach Bungalow with Pools. The accommodation was outstanding, the staff & facilites were fantastic.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Huvafen Fushi. The island is spotless, every meal we had was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. A few tips for anyone who has booked a visit: dinner is very casual, so there’s no need to pack lots of different evening outfits. Make sure you bring enough sunscreen and aftersun, as there isn’t much available to buy on the island. And be sure to take advantage of the complimentary snorkel hire! A special shoutout to Soppe, our Thakuru, and Haleem, our room attendant!

Location of the resort is excellent (35min by boat from Male). There is very little boat traffic i.e. the island is quiet with no other islands close enough to disturb. The sea water is clean and the coral reef is slowly recovering. The island is not large and there are golf-carts available for those who do not feel like walking. The room (ocean bungalow with pool) was fabulous, large, clean and well maintained. We were in the care of Suhaadh, a young butler who became a very efficient interface between us and whatever we needed (room, restaurant, spa etc.) Something remarkable: I am over 70 and, being fat, had some difficulty to enter the pool at the bungalow. I mentioned that to Suhaadh without really expecting any action but, later the same day, they sent two people who built a custom railing that made it much easier for me to get to and from the pool. I have travelled the globe but it was for the first time I experienced that kind of prompt and efficient response. There are in principle two good restaurants - the main one offering internation cuisine, the other primarily japanese (they suggest it is a fusion of Japanese - South American). Both restaurants are good, service perfect - congatulations, Oscar. One comment on the breakfast - if you are on H/B plan and order an in-room breakfast, you need to pay its full price without getting any credit for the breakfast you would be otherwise entitled to have. It would not kill you financially but I would still suggest that this be reconsidered. As regards the activities and spa, it is all high quality as would be expected in this type of resort. In general, having been to quite a few resorts in Maldives, I would like to confirm that this is top class and would highly recommend it.

Huvafen Fushi exceeded every expectation we had. The island is stunningly beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly private. What made our stay truly special was our wonderful butler, Sidu. He looked after us with such kindness and sincerity. Every arrangement was handled perfectly, and he made us feel completely relaxed and cared for from start to finish. Because of him, our time here was not just a vacation — it was a memory we will cherish forever. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
