Huvafen Fushi Maldives

A truely memorable stay. Hufaven Fushi is a quiet, very high-class resort. Everything fits well together to create a luxurious atmosphere. Snorkelling was really good on the house reef. I cannot recall any negative or annoying issues but many endearing moments. I am normally not so keen on the personal butler system but our Thakuru Samaah made me change my opinion, at least for Huvafen, he was perfect.

A perfect place on planet earth for the visitor. Everything is stylish, well maintained and exceeds the expectations. I hope that the wonderful house reef will survive the next decades, it is full of wonderful fish and corals.

Huvafen Fushi is a relatively untouched island with an exceptionally well-preserved natural environment. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the island by speedboat. The white sandy beach is absolutely stunning, and there are also adorable wild animals around the island, giving it a peaceful and charming atmosphere. There are plenty of dining options on the island as well, and the breakfast is very rich and satisfying. The butler assigned to us this time, Alexis, was excellent. From arrival to departure, everything was well organized, and communication was always prompt and smooth. If you enjoy snorkeling, I recommend staying in an Ocean View Bungalow. Right in front of the bungalow is a coral reef that marks the boundary between the shallow and deep sea. You can enter the water directly from your bungalow, swim straight out to the reef at the edge of the deep sea, and then follow the reef all the way toward the Salt restaurant. The scenery along the way is stunning. There is also a sandbank in the middle of the water villa area that’s perfect for photos. Standing on it feels like you’re at the meeting point of the ocean.

What truly elevated our experience during our stay was the level of service provided by our Island Host (Butler) Mohamed Ziraaru (Ziraar). From the moment of arrival, it’s clear that this isn’t simply a contact person, a but a tradition of service rooted in anticipating the guests every need with warmth, grace, and thoughtfulness of guest preferences. The Butler and his team have a deep understanding of the island’s rhythm, ensuring that every detail—whether planned or spontaneous—feels effortless and tailored. This sense of care is a reflection of the resort’s leadership. The General Manager, Ishmael, is visible and genuinely engaged, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that resonates throughout the island. There’s a noticeable pride among the staff, and it translates into consistently exceptional service. Every interaction feels sincere rather than scripted, making guests feel less like visitors and more like part of an extended island family. The overwater bungalows are simply breathtaking—designed with a perfect balance of modern elegance and natural beauty. Waking up to uninterrupted views of the turquoise lagoon, stepping directly into crystal-clear water from your private deck for snorkeling or a refreshing float, enjoying your private plunge pool for spotting local fish and fowl wildlife, creates an experience that feels both indulgent and deeply serene. For those who appreciate marine life, snorkeling at Huvafen Fushi’s house reef is nothing short of spectacular. The vibrant house reef is easily accessible and teeming with colorful fish, rays, and occasional reef and nurse sharks, offering a front-row seat to the Maldives’ underwater magic without ever needing to leave the island. But you can, as there are many excursions available to explore. The spa experience and well trained massage therapists is another highlight, particularly the iconic underwater treatment rooms. There’s something profoundly calming about watching marine life drift by as you unwind—an immersive, almost surreal experience that defines relaxation on a whole new level. Dining at Huvafen Fushi is equally impressive. Each restaurant delivers beautifully presented, thoughtfully curated dishes that celebrate both international flavors and fresh, local ingredients. Whether it’s a relaxed breakfast, beachfront lunch or an elegant dinner under the stars at either SALT or Celsius, the culinary experience consistently exceeds expectations. In every sense, Huvafen Fushi blends natural beauty, thoughtful history, and exceptional service into a truly unforgettable stay. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t just meet luxury standards—it quietly redefines them. We highly recommend and will return!

Our stay at Huvafen Fushi was exceptional in a way that is difficult to fully capture, yet worth attempting. From the moment we arrived, there was a clear sense that this is a resort run with care, precision, and genuine pride. What stood out most was the atmosphere created by the team: every member of staff was relaxed, cheerful, and sincerely engaged. It never felt performative—rather, a natural ease that reflects thoughtful leadership and a genuinely positive environment. Throughout our stay, we felt not only welcomed, but truly valued. There was a consistent sense that everyone we encountered wanted to provide the very best possible experience. That feeling—of being quietly prioritised without fuss—became the defining highlight of our time there. The resort itself is outstanding: peaceful, beautifully designed, and effortlessly luxurious. It offers a rare sense of complete tranquillity and provided exactly what we were looking for—a deeply restorative escape where every detail has been carefully considered. If it sounds almost too good to be true, that is exactly how it felt. We did experience a very minor hiccup when moving from our overwater villa to a beach villa—an overnight current had taken part of the beach. In response to a question about the importance of having a beach, I explained how much I had been looking forward to stepping directly into the ocean. What followed was extraordinary: we were offered the opportunity to move to The Beach House for the remainder of our stay. We were genuinely stunned by the generosity of this gesture and incredibly grateful to Juma, our butler, and especially Mr Noel Cameron for making it possible. It was handled with such elegance and ease that it felt less like resolving an issue and more like a natural expression of exceptional hospitality. Many reviews rightly praise the consistently high standards across every aspect of Huvafen Fushi, and we wholeheartedly agree. However, this personal experience elevated our stay even further and left a lasting impression. The team here are undoubtedly the resort’s greatest asset—truly five-star plus.
