We travelled here to celebrate my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary and, as the first proper family holiday we’d all managed together in years, the trip already felt incredibly special before we’d even arrived. By the end of our stay, it had become one of those holidays we know we’ll talk about for years to come. The resort itself is stunning, peaceful, beautifully maintained, and effortlessly elegant without ever feeling overly formal. But what truly made this place unforgettable was the people. From day one, the beach and Beach Shack became our favourite place on the island. Cake and George were exceptional throughout our stay — warm, attentive, and somehow always one step ahead without anything ever feeling forced. Every afternoon at 4pm, Diet Cokes would appear without fail, which quickly became a running family joke. Cake also fully embraced my prawn obsession, keeping me supplied with everything from the famous gambas to Dad’s increasingly inventive “build your own” prawn salads. The whole beach team created such an easy, relaxed atmosphere that every day felt completely effortless. One of the standout moments of the trip was the sunset dolphin cruise, which was honestly magical. We were lucky enough to see countless dolphins throughout the journey, many of them swimming alongside the boat for long stretches, leaping through the water as though they were dancing beside us. Watching the sunset while surrounded by dolphins was one of those rare moments that felt almost surreal, and something none of us will ever forget. La Locanda was equally wonderful, both at breakfast and dinner. Adey, Tookai and Azu brought such warmth and energy every time we visited, and Isko was exceptional from start to finish — attentive, funny, thoughtful, and effortlessly brilliant at what he does. A genuine 10/10. He also very kindly entertained our insistence that lemon and sugar crêpes are elite and promised to try them himself, which we’re absolutely counting as a win. A huge part of what made this trip so memorable was Shuhu, our Aris Meeha. She had such a natural way of making everything feel personal and thoughtful without it ever seeming like effort. The little touches she arranged throughout our stay, especially around my parents’ anniversary, it genuinely meant so much to all of us. One of the funniest moments of the holiday was the very official “speeding ticket” she issued my dad after an overenthusiastic bike ride around the island, which had the entire family in tears laughing. We also have to mention Muneef and Arafath for enthusiastically joining in with our disposable camera photoshoots and for making every limo transfer smooth and stress-free. What impressed us most was that six people with completely different ideas of the perfect holiday all came away equally happy. We left feeling relaxed, very well looked after, and already talking about when we can return. There are many beautiful resorts in the Maldives, but this one felt genuinely special because of the warmth, kindness, and care shown by every single person we met.

The villa was spacious, elegant, and thoughtfully designed, with breathtaking views from every corner. What made this stay even more memorable was the outstanding service. A very special thank you to our butler, Anth, who made our experience seamless from arrival to departure. She was incredibly attentive, kind, and always one step ahead in making sure everything was perfect for us. Every team member we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming, which made us feel at home while enjoying such a luxurious escape. From the dining experiences to the peaceful atmosphere of the island, every detail was curated to perfection. This was a truly unforgettable getaway, and we left with amazing memories. First, we stayed in St Regis for 5 days and we loved Maldives so much, we’ve decided to cancel our following trip to Switzerland and just extend our stay in Maldives but this time in Ritz Carlton. It was the BEST decision. Ever. St Regis and Ritz communicated so our transition ran smoothly. We’ve decided to take the Ritz yacht and we ended up liking it more than the seaplane because it was more relaxing. The ride took about an hour and in that hour we were offered refreshments and snacks packed in a beautiful leather box. As soon as we reached Ritz, the amazing staff happily welcomed us. I loved how the general manager welcomed and introduced himself to us. His name is Fred and everyone already knew who we were and what we are there for, our 25th anniversary. Our butler introduced herself to us and her name is Novita. She told us she will take care of us and gave us a tour around the resort and brought us to our over water villa. Upon entering our villa, the first thing we saw was the beautiful surprise welcome spread on the table. The villa is sooooo beautiful and thoughtfully designed. She showed us around the room and told us that we are invited to the cocktail hour. So we settled in a bit and got ready for the cocktail hour. We were outside our door and one of the staff just told us dolphins are by the water and pointed it to us right away. There were dozens of them swimming and it was amazing. Like it was welcoming us lol. Cocktail hour was great. Got yummy drinks and hors d’oeuvres. All the staff, managers and executive chefs came and personally chatted with all of us. I loved that. Anyhoo, to make our amazing stay story short, overall this place, the team and services are top notch. Out of this world. They actually pay attention. They do things there thoughtfully. I have been to many Ritz and St Regis’ but this specific Ritz Carlton topped it all. Top notch customer service. Oh I have to mention, I felt that all the employees are happy or well taken care of in this place. It truly shows. I also loved the feeling that they are our friends hosting you and not servers serving you. The feeling is more at home that way and that’s what we felt and we loved it. Everyone’s amazing but just want to mention specific ones who stood out even more. Novita - our amazing butler who made sure our stay was magical. Rafath - for kindly chatting up with us & comped our laundry. Chef Jesson - for surprising us amazing filipino food Chef Jackie - for cooking us delicious pho soup Grace - for gracing us her awesome self and yummy food Shugar - very kind host Mode - our room attendant who made an amazing sand arts in our room and surprised us with our birds shirts Naby - for paying attention to what we like for breakfast and my plateful of my fave mangosteen Naseem - for offering to take beautiful pictures of us Chef Mohammed & the other Nubian chef (so sorry forgot his name) - for letting us try the delicious soread in Arabesque restaurant. Amazing chefs. Executive Chef Pedro - making sure we got to taste everything in the breakfast buffet and personally chatted with us. Again, everyone in this place is out of this world amazing. I cannot thank them enough. Score- 100/10

A stay at the The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands is one of those experiences that’s difficult to put into words; but I’ll give it a go. We travelled as a group of six to celebrate my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just another luxury resort. It was something far more personal, thoughtful, and genuinely special. The resort itself is immaculate: beautifully designed, modern, and maintained to an exceptional standard. Every space feels intentional, calm, and quietly luxurious without ever being overdone. That said, the real magic lies with the people. Each morning began at La Locanda, where Ismail and Grace welcomed us warmly and set the tone for the day! Naufal quickly picked up on every detail (including ensuring I never had an empty glass of Mango juice), while Azu brought a lovely energy to the team. Isko, however, deserves special mention - effortlessly attentive, full of personality, and someone who made every breakfast feel genuinely personal rather than routine. From there, it was always a cycle to the dive centre, where Shafiu, Lili, and Katy were outstanding throughout. I completed eight dive certifications during the trip, and the level of instruction, patience, and professionalism was exceptional as were the range of available dive sites with a huge variety of marine life. Lunch at the Beach Shack became a daily highlight. The food; both on and off menu, was consistently excellent, with Chef Kushan’s tacos a standout! This was always rounded out perfectly with an incredible cocktail from Sunny (and a Fanta)! The wider team: Adey, Pony, Modu, Anoosa, and Alika were all brilliant, but Cake and George truly elevated the experience. Their ability to anticipate what you need before you’ve even thought of it, combined with a natural warmth and ease, made every day feel seamless and genuinely special!! The afternoon with the whole team was full of laughter and joy - something which sets the Ritz Fari Islands apart from anywhere else. Afternoons were spent between the spectacular beach and the Eau Bar pool. Though one of the most memorable moments for me was swimming around the central island to see the coral regeneration project and spotting the resident turtle and small reef fish. Evenings brought variety and atmosphere. The Easter gala events were incredibly well executed and clearly the result of a huge team effort. On quieter nights, Iwau (with Sabda and Samui), Arabesque (with Mo, Ammu, Adey and Chef Ahmed), and La Locanda once again delivered consistently with phenomenal and special food by Chef Lorenzo. Eau Bar, with Sharippe, Mueen, and Indika, was always a great place to round off the day. Desserts were another highlight and something I made sure to sample each night; particularly the chocolate and raspberry cake from Chefs Harsha and Yogesh. What truly tied everything together, though, was the seamless support behind the scenes. Shuhu and Muneef, our Aris Meetha, were exceptional throughout! Anticipating, coordinating, and elevating every aspect of the stay with a level of care that never felt intrusive, yet was always present. It’s difficult to overstate the impact they had on the overall experience. Their personal touches meant so much and we enjoyed finding surprises throughout our stay! This wasn’t just a holiday; it had that rare “switch off completely” feeling from the moment we arrived. We leave with incredible memories and huge appreciation for a team that consistently goes above and beyond and a countdown to booking for the next trip.

At the Beach Shack restaurant, our waiter Micu made every meal feel special with his warm personality and excellent recommendations. And a special mention goes to our dedicated assistant Anth, who was instrumental in making our entire holiday unforgettable. He anticipated every need, organized wonderful experiences, and even arranged a smooth late check-out, allowing us to enjoy one final perfect day without any rush. The combination of incredible design, spectacular sunsets, world-class dining, and genuinely heartfelt service made this a true 5-star vacation in every sense. The Ritz-Carlton Maldives didn’t just meet our expectations — it far exceeded them. We left with heavy hearts and are already dreaming of our return.
