Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives

We visited this hotel and the wonderful island 12 and 13 years ago, when it was still a Hilton. This year we were 3-rd time from 03/11/26 to 03/25/26. Since we really enjoyed our vacation, we would really like to share our impressions.   The island and the hotel have become greener (there is a lot of trees, flowers that is being cared for), more well-groomed, cleaner and more comfortable.  We was pleasantly surprised that there were more restaurants. We had half board, but for us the food was varied and it was possible to combine different restaurants.  We were very pleased that, taking into account our wishes, we have a villa with a swimming pool (No. 248). It was really very appreciated by us, as we had previously stayed in villas nearby (246). It was also very nice to receive compliments and gifts (wine, cake at the restaurant for Olya's wife's birthday, snorkeling). The staff has become more attentive and responsive. I would like to mention (thank you) separately: 1. Our butler Aizhamal, who was always in touch. She solved all the issues very carefully and promptly (!). She was helpful, correct, and unobtrusive. I was comfortable with her.  We very appreciate that have a personal butler. 2. Nalaka (in my opinion, I filled in his name correctly. I'm sorry, if  name is not correct) the restaurant manager and the restaurant where we had breakfast and dinner most often. 2.1. The food is varied, tasty and fresh. I was pleased with the availability of high-quality fruits and vegetables, cheeses and meat (especially for Europeans). As for us we did not eat much European food (we preferred local and Asian), but what was from the usual European fried eggs, pizza, spaghetti, soups was good and enough for us. 2.2. There was a lot of fish, fresh (!!!) and cooked. And even seafood. There were much kinds of smoothies, juices and other drinks, as well as all kinds of canapes, sweets and pastries. Healthy and delicious food and drinks. 2.3. I was very pleased that the cuisine alternated between Italian, Maldivian and others. We didn't get tired of the food for 15 days, we had a choice. But the local food (Maldivian Indian) is very tasty and fresh,  varied and not spicy. It was delicious and pleasant. 2.4. The restaurant staff is very attentive and empathetic. Almost all time observed was available all the time, there is enough of everything. They cooked rather faste, despite the influx of people. 2.5. I would like to thank and highlight once more Manager Nalaka separately, because without him, the restaurant and staff would not have worked so clearly. This is clearly his merit. And for all the time at breakfast and dinner (even when it was late), he was always in the restaurant, correcting everything himself. reported, wiped. Personally, I was constantly involved. He (saw other people) asked us what we were missing. Apart from the obvious professional qualities, this apparently comes from the heart. 3.The new owner and management of the hotel, as in 12 years the island and the hotel have become much more comfortable and pleasant to relax. The disadvantages of the restaurant:  1. Waiters in restoran sometimes took a long time to bring drinks (except water) to both us and people. 2. The choice (and prices) of wine in the restaurant are very small. 3. Sometimes it was noisy because of DJs, music, various programs up to 12 p.m. We are supporters of a quiet relaxing holiday. 4.Prices or some discounts. As usual want to have cheaper….. 😉 Keep it up. Very exciting arrival on seaplane and speedboat. Idyllic white beaches and turquoise sea. Stayed in water villa on stilts. Delicious Indian, Italian, Asian and islanders grill restaurants. Tranquil adults only infinity pool and amazing snorkelling seeing sharks, turtles, Rae fish and barracudas. Stunning sunsets with live saxophone playing on the beach and Golden Hour sunset cruise seeing dolphins. Complimentary facial and massage. Excellent facilities for wheelchair dependent disability and friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Truelly relaxing and idyllic holiday in paradise!

A massive shout out to the Sun Siyam team for an amazing holiday! A special thank you to Pasan for all his support from start to end, to Silini for being the sweetest soul in showing us around and making us familiar with the resort, and an even special thank you to Imraz. Imraz’s role was to be our butler during our stay, however, to us, he was more than that! Imraz, went over and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. At times we had to decide to walk from the villa to the restaurants, bars, etc, to make sure Imraz was not overworking himself! He is a true asset to have. The resort was nothing but immaculate. The food was exceptional. Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, wholeheartedly captivated us and we will certainly be back!

Sun Siyam Iru Fushi is 5* luxury with a relaxed beach atmosphere. The island resort is an idillic natural Island with mature vegetation, white sands, crystal clear waters, house reef and lots of smaller reefs to explore. Restaurants include main buffet style with excellent range of freshly prepared local and international foods so much to choose. Speciality restaurants were well worth a visit or two. Bamboo, Taste of India and Tepanyaki were all delicious. Islanders Grill was a touch of class dinner on the beach under the stars with the most beautiful food and drink. Reflections is a great adult only pool/beach area with an Ibiza vibe. Delicious Lunches available too. Finding the secret sundowner cart and ice cream cart around the island is a special treat. Entertainment at waters edge Bar was always a good night. The house band and singers are amazing. We were lucky enough to experience the Eid celebrations and Maldivian afternoon and evening. So special to enjoy this celebration with all the team, including food, dancing, music and local cultural activities and history displays. Blue light snorkelling was an amazing experience as was the boat trip to the local Atoll capital island for a visit learning of the culture and customs. Spending an hour or two in the spa was well worth it. Making you feel relaxed and special from start to end. Accomodation: we stayed in a beach villa with pool and access directly to our own area of the beach with loungers. Beautiful accomodation with a bed view of the ocean. Outside bathroom with large shower, plus separate sun shower, jacuzzi bath, toilet and swinging daybed. Note all villas are being upgraded to include pools over the next year. We viewed a newly renovated over water villa at Boli beach and would recommend if you would prefer direct water access. All water villas are getting an upgrade too. The team: amazing! Not one single member to complain about as they were always happy and polite and extremely helpful. Nothing is ever trouble and never any expectations to tip etc. we definitely tipped those who we came across. So many to name but just a few to mention who we felt gave us exceptional service. We were always interested in a chat discovering their stories. Finding out many came for a short time but stayed many years more than intended, a good sign of an excellent team and employer. Firstly shout out to our main man Thahseen who met us from the seaplane and looked after us, kept us updated with daily activities right to the minute we stepped back on the seaplane such a beautifully kind soul. Our room attendant Raseedul what a delight so so talented leaving us daily messages made with flowers and plants and towel art animals. Stocking up the fridge and toiletries daily. A lovey man. Nahendra at waters edge- plus all the guys there. Happy and chatty and always happy to find your preferred beer in the face of an international shortage of estrella! Many amazing cocktails and mocktails to choose from and always happy to suggest one to try. Anu - this guy works everywhere at all times. Another hard working and happy polite soul who we found to be delightful. All Restaurant teams need a mention too great food, service and standards. The tepanyaki chef what an entertainer! A must for any holiday. The spa team- always around at breakfast wishing you a good meal and day without being pushy to book anything. Quietly present. Enjoyed a facial with Debby from Bali such a beautiful lady. And a hot and cold stone massage - can’t remember this ladies name but again such a pleasant member of the team. Our guide for the island trip was knowledgable and happy to answer our many questions. Thanks to the boat crews for the sunset cruise and island trip also. The buggy “taxi” drivers are amazing stopping to offer a lift if they see you walking around and happy to be called to drive you home after a busy day. All the gardeners and maintenance teams also very happy and polite always saying hello whenever you see them around. Working hard to keep the trsort running and looking pretty. We cannot thank each and every team member enough for their exceptional service. We will definitely be back hopefully 2028
