Lunch at El Gazibo in the Tramontana Mountains

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We had heard a lot about the beautiful interiors of this hotel and decided to book into El Gazibo for lunch as it’s literally a 20 minute drive from Palma. We were greeted to valet parking and a tour of the fabulous public rooms of this gorgeous hotel, rich in patterned fabrics, restored old features and a warm ambience with fabulous mountainous views. Our lunch was delicious although I must say rather average for the price. However the staff were attentive and very friendly so I guess you’re paying for the location. Overall, well worth the trip.

Disappointing as it is beautiful… but hopefully they will get there soon.

A beautiful place and I can see why they need to charge £1,300 a night for a suite. However with that price ticket comes the expectation of good service and a full package. The service was a bit lacking, room 55 had a dreadful view for the money, a weedy lawn and they could have moved us. The hotel was half full at best I would say and two equivalent rooms were available. They should have taken it out of service. The food was excellent though. Disappointing but I hope they get it right soon as the setting is sublime.

Elegant retreat. Mental note: must return

Stayed in an incredible suite for just over a week - our whole experience was flawless. The property's recent refurbishment/interior design is exquisitely beautiful. Our rooms were absolutely gorgeous, with high ceilings, luxurious soft furnishings & old artwork. The view of the valley/surrounding towns & mountain range was a feast for the eyes. All the meals we had at the property were wonderful, with exceptional service to match. Breakfasts on the sun dappled terrace were divine... including a daily selection of pastries (from the pasty chef on site) to match the best I've had in Paris or London. We always found room by the pool which was exceptionally tranquil even with other guests about. The general feeling was one of peace and tranquility... I really didn't want to leave. I usually find summer holidays & resorts a bit oppressive: staying in a cookie cutter beige room in a bustling resort, no matter how well appointed, just drains my senses. This was the total opposite. The service, as mentioned, was fantastic. The hotel staff were gracious hosts, very welcoming & happy to assist. For instance, on one of our final days I asked the groundsman if it was ok to feed the donkeys (there are 3) some fruit & he kindly made sure I didn't lose a finger in the process & then showed me the geese & orchard and took the trouble to use google translate to tell me about them - so lovely & personable. At breakfast on our last day I heard a young boy at the next table tell his parents in a hushed tone: "This place is just amazing" - he's completely right. And I'm spoiled for any other hotel stay in Europe...

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Being at Son Net feels like you are in a dreamy postcard. The service was second to none. Special shout out to Luigi for tending to our specific needs. The only disappointment was having to leave!
