Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa

I am limiting this review to my experience at Josephine’s Coffee shop situated in the hotel’s lobby area. This review is not about the hotel itself. I went to Josephine’s for a business meeting at 12pm. The place was busy with several tables occupied but not full. After waiting a good 15 mins for a sign of any waiter service, a polite and apologetic waitress came over to the table and we ordered a coffee, a bottle of water and a pot of tea. 20 minutes later we were still waiting for our order to arrive. My coffee and the water were then served without the tea. After another 10 minutes and because the service staff were nowhere in sight I stood up and went up to the counter to ask for the tea to be served - which it was after another shorter wait. Staff is friendly, the place is lovely but the service level leaves much to be desired for a 5 star hotel. More staff numbers are needed. Management to take note.

Our local friend selected this hotel for our small group of 5 adults. What a lovely hotel, with friendly staff. Part of our group enjoyed the outside pool and garden experience. The grounds are superb. Both bars/restaurants were very good with attentive service and hospitality, especially Becky. The room 317, was large with a balcony. The hairdryer was too complex and it more than one piece. Large comfortable bed, enough plugs. The shower could have used a grab bar and the bathroom was smaller. We had a small issue with the upper bathroom door hinge but were able to fix ourselves. Suggest one change, that would be not placing the soap amenities bottles on the metal dishes (cleanliness/corrosion). When checking out the invoice includes a daily discretionary service charge which we allowed to stay and tipped individuals less. Also the hotel charges for F&B were broken down too much to be able to check the bill in total. But a brilliant and enjoyable stay here, highly recommend.

Great overall experience. Thank you for your warm hospitality! Our gratitude goes to Odeon, William and Rahul. We are really enjoying the Hidden Garden now that reopened, the food is also great! Also Josephine’s is one of our favorite place too, very warm staff!

A last minute search on the internet and we found ourselves on a plane, heading for the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Malta. No real idea of what was in store for us but we certainly were not disappointed. Greeted on arrival by the Hotel Manager who gave us a good introduction to the hotel and the surrounding area. In the hotel, our room was spacious, bed was huge and everything spotless and very neat. The reception/ lobby corridors, stairs, bars, restaurants, spa and pool area were also spotless, with marble floors, walls, steps and columns giving a real quality feel about the hotel. These physical assets were good but better still were the staff, all very courteous, polite and willing to help to provide an excellent service. Food and service in the bars and restaurants were very good, particularly the breakfasts which set you up well for the rest of the day. Externally the hotel grounds were neat and tidy with plenty of seating and numerous water features to the front. Sadly to the rear, the outdoor pools were not yet ready for use which is understandable for early March, but the internal pool was fine. The hotel location is fairly central to the island. A free shuttle bus from the hotel is available to Valetta and local buses to various places around the island are plentiful. So overall, we found a gem of a hotel on a very interesting island and had an unexpectedly excellent holiday.
