Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa

Booking into the Corinthia Palace was, without doubt, the best decision we made during our visit to Malta. It’s a true oasis—calm, tasteful, and defined by genuinely warm service. After a particularly hectic period, we came to Malta for a short break, but found the island itself didn’t resonate with us. Without the Corinthia Palace, the trip might well have been a write-off. The concierge and front desk team were exemplary: gracious, attentive, and effortlessly professional. The bar, quiet and refined, felt like the heartbeat of the hotel—staffed by individuals of the highest calibre. Room 233 became our sanctuary; I slept deeply and peacefully there. While the decor shows its age, the spaciousness and serenity of the room more than compensate. There were a few missteps. The in-house Italian restaurant was a letdown—the Milanese veal arrived with charred edges, suggesting it wasn’t freshly prepared. It should never have left the kitchen in that state. Breakfast, served in the same venue, was underwhelming; both variety and quality could use a lift. Still, the Corinthia Palace was the redeeming feature of our Maltese escape. It turned what could have been a disappointing trip into a genuinely restorative experience.

This hotel is extraordinary. Wow! It blew us away! It is stylish, aesthetically beautiful and authentically wonderful. The rooms are generous and comfortable. The dining room is majestic. The Caprice Lounge is chic and welcoming. The pool area is relaxing and impressive. The spa is beautiful, relaxing and comfortable. This hotel looks beautiful and smells divine! The front garden is also delightful with exquisite planting and fountains to delight the senses. Breakfast is incredible. Generous and delicious buffet, eggs cooked to order, and the most warm and welcoming service. The staff here are amazing! Every encounter is met with a smile, a check-in and a genuine expression of care and kindness. We could not believe just how kind every member of staff was. If anyone crossed our path, they asked how we were doing. The level of training is impressive. There’s an obvious understanding of hospitality, etiquette and attention to detail. It’s never stuffy, but it is always extraordinarily attentive. Room attendants made our lovely room even lovelier every day! Bathrooms were well equipped and the toiletries were so nice. We felt pampered and cared for…always! Villa Corinthia restaurant was excellent. The ambiance was memorable, as was the food. We also enjoyed delicious dishes poolside and in the gorgeous Caprice Lounge. Ramesh was a perfect concierge. Sanjay, Ayoush and Yogi were outstanding staff members. Angela and Ednalyn made every breakfast memorable. Such wonderful energy and kindness each morning. This is an exquisite, wonderful and impressive hotel. We say without hesitation, that we have just enjoyed a PERFECT week here. We will never forget our time at the Corinthia Palace. It has been a truly exceptional stay. We cannot thank you all enough. You should all be very proud of all that you have achieved and all that you offer to your guests each day. We see your hard work. We have noticed your dedication. We applaud you all. I’ve stayed at the Corinthia Palace Hotel a few times over many years and when my partner and I urgently needed a good rest my choice was very easy. From start to finish this was one of the most pleasant and restful stays we’ve had in any hotel. Check in was simple and fast. Our room was lovely….a grand deluxe room with a balcony overlooking the front garden of the hotel. The room was superbly clean and quiet with honestly fantastic room service staff. Breakfast in the Villa Corinthia was extensive to say the least and Angela the head was wonderful. We dined in Bahia and Villa Corinthia as well as the poolside restaurant….all excellent in their different styles. This is a superb old style luxury hotel still family run and with the emphasis on service and relaxation. I can’t recommend it enough.

Unacceptable General Manager Conduct Mr jlaeil one of the company managers made our stay intolerable with his disrespectful attitude. He was openly rude to staff, scolding them publicly, which created a tense and unwelcoming environment. His interactions with guests were equally poor, when I approached him about a billing issue, he brushed me off with a condescending tone, showing no interest in resolving the problem. This lack of professionalism from the top trickled down, affecting the overall guest experience. It’s a shame, as the resort has potential, but the GM’s behavior is a major deterrent.

I really liked this hotel. The atmosphere is elegant. The decoration in the room is a bit old style but still chic and charming. The staff is friendly and the place is beautiful and well maintained. A lovely stay overall!
