Beautiful Property

Lovely location and setting. The pool and spa facilities are superb and worth the visit. The grounds are lovely but be sure to check they are all open as the main hotel bar, secondary restaurant and restaurant bar were all closed on our stay.

UNWELCOMING

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Stunning hotel, but surprisingly INFLEXIBLE. As a family with kids, we felt UNWELCOMED. Not being able to book the restaurant as guests was disappointing, especially given the price point.

The feudal system of an entire family managing the complex is failing the promise of this reconverted renovated abbey.

An amazing experience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

It is not just a hotel/spa, it is an amazing experience. It is a real 5 star hotel where you are treated amazingly from the moment you arrive. Modern designed mixed with historical heritage helps you to relax and enjoy your holidays. You will have everything you need: from L’Occitane cosmetics to a yoga mat. Breakfast had a plenty of options to choose from, the food was of a high quality. SPA zone offers a very nice sauna, several water zones an places to relax.

Stunning

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 months ago

This is, quite simply, a stunning hotel. The work that has been done in terms of restoration of a heritage building (my professional interest), interior design and attention detail is remarkable but must have cost a small fortune. Our room (deluxe terrace) was large and full of light. The bar is an amazing space, again filled with light. The spa is probably one of the best I have visited (I’m an ex member of Gleneagles) and swimming in the Nordic pool early on chilly late November mornings was a treat my husband and I will remember for a long time. We didn’t eat in the gastronomic restaurant but had a couple of meals in the Bistro and I would really recommend the lunch menu served during the week. Breakfasts, which are included in the room price, were very good. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Hire an electric bike and explore the area. Visit the L’Occitane factory (and if you’re an English speaker as for your guide to be Olivier). The recommendations for lunches outside the hotel were excellent. There is some criticism that the hotel is an Instagram oasis and I guess in some ways it is. We arrived on a Sunday and felt we were way outside the desired demographic, but once they had all gone home on Monday morning the hotel, its staff and its facilities were perfect. We’ve already booked for a stay en route to skiing in March.
