Reviews for Waldorf Astoria New York

Great Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

We stayed here over Christmas. Absolutely fantastic. The staff was welcoming, coordinated with each other seamlessly. The suites are very spacious and spotlessly clean. Housekeeping was on point. We asked for a table at Peacock Alley on a whim at a very busy time for them - not an issue. Spa is fabulous. Tried to take a selfie in the lobby and someone jumped in to help. Everything just worked. Most importantly, we felt comfortable and at home. Special shout out to the doormen for always welcoming us back with a smile. We'll be back - already have booked for the summer.

An unforgettable New Year's Eve!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We had one of the best New Year's Eves in recent years. An incredible atmosphere characterised by elegance, good taste, superb food, excellent service and incredible musical accompaniment. Thank you to the Waldorf Astoria in New York, thank you to Sabata and Eleanor, and thank you to the staff in the hall. The Waldorf has returned to its former glory, characterised by uniqueness and above-average hospitality. Thank you again.

Our stay at the Waldorf Astoria New York was quietly impressive.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

The restoration is elegant and refined, but the true strength of the experience lies in the team. Service is attentive without being intrusive, warm without being overstated a balance that is not easy to achieve. Saldon Gyatso’s care in housekeeping reflected a genuine attention to detail, and Guendolyn at reception set a welcoming tone from the moment we arrived. For a hotel that has only recently reopened, the level of consistency and professionalism already feels well established. A property defined by subtle luxury and thoughtful hospitality.

Christmas Magic at the Waldorf

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Our Christmas week trip to NYC was incredibly special, in no small part due to the wonderful experience we had at the Waldorf! I wanted this holiday to be nothing short of spectacular, and the Waldorf delivered with first-class service, incredible food and drinks, and beautiful holiday decor. The hotel recently underwent an 8-year, $2 billion renovation, and the results are stunning. Our junior suite was beautifully appointed, clean, and extremely comfortable. The concierge even had a beautiful Christmas tree placed in our suite at my request. And we were just steps from the heart of midtown, the perfect home base for a week of sightseeing. I highly recommend staying at this iconic property!

The Waldorf Astoria is back with a bang!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We have just returned from our anniversary trip to the newly refurbished Waldorf Astoria New York where we spent many happy trips before it closed for refurbishment. What a job the designers have done. The hotel remains true to its Art Deco history with the clock at its centre whilst modernising its rooms and communal areas. Gone is the check in lobby which felt like a train station. Now your cases vanish seamlessly at the entrance arriving swiftly to your room and the checking in area now feels more like a beautiful hall in a mansion. Gone is the awful low brow restaurant and now there is the choice of a new Lex restaurant or the recreated Peacock Alley; more light, more space and with a wonderful classy vibe. Special mention to Noah, the front desk manager who treated us to a wonderful upgrade for our anniversary along with balloons to celebrate. He was kind and courteous throughout and is credit to the travel business. Of course nothing beats New York at Xmas time and the Waldorf Astoria was beautifully decorated for the festive season with both Xmas trees and a Chanukiah! Thank you Noah, we will be back!
