Absolutely stunning location with luxurious suites. We spent our holiday relaxing in the private beach, walking around the trails in the resort and viewing the wildlife( monkeys, sloths, iguanas, macaws) around the property. We never had to or wanted to leave the property during our stay. The lifeguards at the beach and the golf cart crew exemplified out of the world service that you would expect at a 5 star resort. 1 area that left us wanting was the restaurant - the wait times were long, the staff was moody and our orders were often mixed up.

Arenas Del Mar was the 4th stop in our large family trip to Costa Rica and we (group of 11, age 8-74) were blown away by the hotel. This is some of the most consistent, kindest, sincere individualized customer service I have experienced at any hotel anywhere in the world - from the welcome desk, reception, restaurant staff, beachfront staff and the friendly and ever present golf cart drivers who shuttle you on this uniquely beautiful property situated in a jungle adjacent to a beautiful beach. The water was warm and we all went in and had some fun with the waves at the hotels private beach, where lunch could also be served. On our first day there were 3 sloths hanging out by the trees near the beach - wow! Pools were small but nice. The property and spaces are beautifully designed and the lobby and beach views serene. We appreciated the emphasis on sustainability - didn’t spot a plastic bottle, straw or bag here or at any of the hotels we stayed at on our trip. I would like to shoutout Ranses who worked by the beach and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and welcome, as well as hosting painting and bracelet making classes that our family enjoyed. Alejandro who manages the restaurant also went above and beyond to make our family welcome, even meeting us to say goodbye at 6am which I knew was before his shift! We had early tours and an early departure - the restaurant kindly packaged up food and coffees for us to have on the bus, labeled with each of our names and delivered to our bus! The hotel also gave us a free load of laundry per room (much appreciated on a long trip!) and totally free minibar snacks and drinks - a small touch but nice and my son really liked the chocolate covered pineapple snacks in there :) There are carbon monoxide detectors in all rooms after a tragedy here in March 2025. We felt safe, though our hearts go out to the family that was affected. Manuel Antonio park at first blush seems like it’s going to be a crowded nightmare but with a great guide you will really see all sorts of amazing flora and fauna. We had Rodolfo (Rudy) Guzman and he was incredible, and should be a National Geographic photographer! Overall, this was my favorite place we stayed at in CR (high bar as our stays in Guanacaste, Arenal and Monteverde were also great). We had a memorable, luxurious experience at this hotel at the end of our trip. My highest recommendation for Arenas Del Mar!

Great place for relaxing and family time. The hotel will set up fishing guides at Quepos marina and all other excursions. Hotel provides transportation (extra cost) to and from Manuel Antonio for dining and shopping. Staff works extremely hard for the guests. Their small cove is private but Espadilla Beach is next door for a public beach with surfing and food truck options.

Had an amazing family vacation with two teens at Arenas Del Mar for eight nights – our goal was to relax and enjoy the beach, rainforest, and city without spending all our time driving around and this resort delivered. Before our trip I corresponded with Lucretia at the concierge desk about the types of things we wanted to do during our stay and she booked our transportation to and from the airport as well as surfing lessons, an adventure tour, fishing trip, and transportation to Manuel Antonio national park. Communication was great and this took any stress out of planning on my end. Transportation from the airport to hotel was a 3hr comfortable ride. We showed up at the hotel in the midst of a big storm but were escorted to our room safe and dry by Christian, one of many of the staff who were the highlight of our stay. Everything at the resort was outstanding but standouts were the hotel staff, Amigos del Rio Adventure Park, and surfing lessons steps from the resort. At Playitas beach Diango and the rest of the crew helped us safely navigate the surf and hosted activities like painting and boogie boarding lessons. Food by chef David was spectacular, including cooking the fresh catch from our fishing excursion to perfection. The grounds were beautiful and we saw more animals at the hotel than at the national park. Thank you to all of the staff who made our vacation so memorable!
