Arenas del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort

We had a day pass to the beach at this beautiful hotel. The service was five star, as well as the property and drinks.

We had a terrific experience at Arenas Del Mar! Service was top notch, from the moment we booked. We stayed in a fabulous Ocean View Premium Suite close to the beach - very spacious, well appointed and immaculately clean. The private jacuzzi on our large balcony with a million dollar view was a real treat. All the hospitality staff was very attentive and kind - and fast. Our unit was near the bottom of the hill, so we often took advantage of the golf-cart shuttle service to the top. By the time we hung up the phone, grabbed our bags and walked out the door, a driver was already waiting for us - every single time. Food was outstanding, from the delicious a-la-carte breakfasts to the delectable dinners at Mirador. Special shout out to our wonderful servers Christian and Karen who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We highly recommend reservations for the Costa Rican Food Night at the Playalitas Beachfront Restaurant - a fantastic BBQ feast not to be missed!

I spoke to the receptionist and she gave me the wrong directions. There is a back road to the hotel that is dirt, rocky, and suicidally steep. My Mary almost expired on the spot.

We used Rodbin and his transportation company through Arenas Del Mar during our stay in Manuel Antonio, and they were outstanding. Rodbin and his team of drivers took us all over the west coast of Costa Rica for multiple tours throughout the week. Every pickup was on time, communication was easy, and the vehicles were clean and comfortable. The drivers were friendly, professional, and happy to share recommendations and local knowledge along the way. Having reliable transportation made a huge difference in our trip. We never had to worry about getting to activities, navigating unfamiliar roads, or arranging last-minute rides. They made everything simple and stress-free so we could just enjoy Costa Rica. If you’re staying in the Manuel Antonio area and need transportation for tours or airport transfers, I would absolutely recommend Rodbin and his team.

Really enjoyable introduction to Costa Rica. We had a double ocean view premium suite with a huge terrace with jacuzzi overlooking the beach and frolicking wildlife. It was probably the best room of our trip. We thought breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of a la carte dishes local and international. The restaurant was also very good and we particularly enjoyed the BBQs. Drinks choice was good with interesting cocktails but the wine was expensive for Costa Rica. Its closeness to the national park meant easy trips to both day time and night walks. The park is crowded but our guide tried hard to keep us away from the crowded paths. We saw many birds and animals both at the resort and the national park. Highlights were the 'civet cat', squirrel monkeys and sloths at the entrance to the resort, the pelicans by the beach and at the park the fer de lance snake, the bird life and the various frogs. A really enjoyable stay and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
