Well‑Equipped Hotel with Great Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Shana by the Beach is a very comfortable and well‑equipped hotel with excellent service. The playful monkeys that wander around the property are fun to watch and add to the experience. Compared to the smaller boutique hotels we visited in Costa Rica, this one feels more oriented toward American guests and their expectations, which is perfectly fine—it was just amusing that staff immediately addressed us in English even though we are Spanish‑speaking. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was very good, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The path down to the beach is beautiful and makes the location even more enjoyable. Overall, a great stay with everything you need for a relaxing visit to Manuel Antonio.

Beautiful resort, wait staff are so incredibly nice and attentive. Javier was so accommodating at breakfast, I enjoyed our conversations and lessons of Costa Rica. The resort is a great location, close to beaches, Manuel National Park, restaurants and more. It was very clean and enjoyed the adult pool and happy hour! We saw a sloth, monkeys, and pelicans right from the pool!

Great stay

This is a perfect location for the beach and close to town to go exploring. The travel to the hotel was beautiful with lots of scenery. We got to see the monkeys playing close up (one of my must see in Costa Rica). The room was perfect for my family. I really enjoyed the spa/massage that I received; the masseuse was professional and great a her job.

This hotel was a little older. Our bathroom faucets were in need of repair and the towel rack was tiny and fragile. Overall we enjoyed it. Especially the monkeys trying to take our breakfast each morning!
