Shana Hotel & Spa

Overall a great hotel and we enjoyed our stay. Pool was lovely, especially the small adult pool. Breakfast was very busy but reasonable variety and staff were helpful. Very spacious rooms, well appointed but looking quite tired - I think an update might be planned? Great location - plenty of monkeys, birds etc Would return

A wonderful place with excellent services and very attentive staff, always quick to respond to guests’ needs. The hotel is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and offers beautiful views of the ocean. The atmosphere is truly special: you can hear the birds, feel the warm breeze, and sometimes even enjoy a visit from playful monkeys while having your meal on the restaurant terrace. A memorable experience, perfect for relaxation and connecting with nature.

We had a a truly magical stay. The staff were brilliant, great location and saw an amazing amount of wild life. Just to mention a few names that made our stay extra spevial Hayette - always available to help us and have lovely conversations with thr family. Never seen a manager as available as Hayette. Javier - always smiling and going the extra mile at breakfast. Jairo - happy to go the extra mile and willing to help everyone. The beach, pool, breakfast and facilities were fantastic. What a fantastic piece of paradise!

dated hotel, everything needs a refresh, cracked or missing tiles in the pool, ripped shade umbrellas, staff was miserable seems scared of owner/manager who seemed like she rules with an iron fist. anyplace that makes people wear shirts that read “i love my job” certainly don’t. won’t be back on future CR trips.

Our family of four (kids ages 5 and 7) had a wonderful stay at Shana by the Beach this past week. The hotel is in a great location (a 10 minute walk to Biesanz Beach, which is so great for the kids) with lots of forest around it…meaning lots of visits from animals. During our stay, we saw capuchins, a toucan, geckos, and more! I also can’t speak highly enough of the staff. Yasmin, Javier, and the woman who works the grill making omelets and pancakes during breakfast…I didn’t catch her name!) all helped us start our day right! They were super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious! Similarly, the wait staff at the pool, Sydney, I particular, were a highlight each day we were there! They went above and beyond to make sure we felt taken care of and even helped me practice my Spanish. We were all sad to say good-bye! True hospitality which was a difference maker in our trip. Not sure when/if we’ll make it back to Manuel Antonio, but would definitely stay at Shana again!!
