ME Marbella

Really enjoyed my time at ME Marbella. Beautiful design, great location, and very attentive staff. The concierge service was excellent and added a great touch to the stay. Highly recommended.

I had such a lovely stay at ME Marbella — everything from the atmosphere to the service was spot on. A special thank you to Victoria who works in the pool area. Her service was absolutely amazing — always so smiley, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She really made a difference to our experience and made us feel so well looked after throughout our stay. It’s little touches like this that make a stay memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The hotel doesn’t clearly explain its rules. We came here with kids, fully aware there’s an adults-only pool — that part is mentioned on the website. But there are also photos of tables with sand, and nowhere does it say that this is also an adults-only area or still part of the pool zone. We booked a higher-category room specifically so we thing that we can spend time with small kids near that sand area. One day we stayed there the whole day — staff even said it was fine as long as we weren’t bothering anyone. We kept to ourselves, sat in the corner, cleaned up after our child — no issues at all. The next day, when our 4 to son sat down to play in the sand, a staff member approached him while we weren’t right next to him, spoke to him in another language, and started taking away the sand he was playing with. He ended up in tears and was later scared to even go near the pool because of that situation. Then they told to leave the area, being informed that children are not allowed to use the bar or tables there. Fine — we get rules. What we don’t get is the attitude. No apology for scaring a child, just a cold “we understand, but those are the rules” from the manager. Not even a simple “sorry.” We paid extra for this room to enjoy that space, and the hotel provides zero clear information about where exactly the adults-only zone starts or ends. When we suggested we might leave, the staff didn’t seem to care at all and casually offered us another hotel “more suitable for children.” This was our third stay with Meliá. We’ve stayed at Don Pepe before and it was great, but after this experience — mainly due to the staff’s behavior and arrogance — we won’t be coming back. The whole place feels like it’s made for “fancy” Instagram posts, with fake smiles everywhere. Families clearly aren’t welcome here. Also, the breakfast? Scrambled eggs tasted like powdered mix — completely artificial. Definitely not what you expect from a five-star hotel. Parking is expencive and there is no welcome drink after trip.
