Reviews for The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa

Great for golfers

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Not surprisingly, the majority of people staying at this resort - mostly groups of men - are here for the golf. It doesn't disappoint in this department as the golf courses are very good as are the amenities (driving range, golf carts, etc). However, there's nothing else of interest within walking distance of the hotel so you will need a car if you want to explore Benahavis town for example. Our large room was dated but did come with a large balcony and panoramic views. It also included most of the amenities that you would expect from such a hotel, such as a coffee machine, robes, and slippers. There's a large pool and Spa which included a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and a herbal room. The gym is sparsely equipped but fine for a quick workout. Likewise, underground parking is good but does cost an additional €12 per night. The breakfast buffet was a highlight with lots of options served in a relaxed environment. It was also possible to order various egg dishes such as omelettes or eggs Benedict. Overall, if you like golf then this resort hotel is a good option. But we wouldn't recommend it for non-golfers.

Good location, a hotel that delivers and a very nice golf course

We stayed at The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa in late April 2026 for a 4-day golf break, and it was a lovely experience. It was our first visit to The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa, and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel's rooms are maybe a little dated, but very clean, and our room had a panoramic view. The rest of the hotel facilities were great, the breakfast buffet was super, and the golf course was in very good condition from tee to green. The staff was helpful and very service-minded, which also makes a big difference. All in all, it was a super stay - and we are already looking forward to coming back!

Great stay

We came here by accident because the place we had originally booked in Marbella was too noisy. Great hotel. Spacious rooms, great staff, very good restaurant, copious breakfast. Even for non-golfers like we, a perfect stY.

Nice hotel, beautiful golf course though quite expensive

We stayed at Westin La Quinta during our 4 days golf visit to Marbella. We booked as a group of golfers and everything was organized around such event. It was generally ok though I would say that the quality - price ratio is really not the a very good one. Hotel is clean though the facilities, finishings and the design is more or less basic. Tiles on the floor in the rooms, regular to cheap furniture, poor finishings in the bathrooms. The personnel and services were all good but this is what you expect from such a place.

Not for families

We recently stayed at The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa and overall had a pleasant stay, particularly for a short, quiet family break. The hotel is in a lovely location surrounded by greenery and close to Marbella, Puerto Banús, and the coast. The setting feels peaceful and secure, especially if you enjoy golf or a more relaxed atmosphere away from the busy beachfront areas. The hotel itself is attractive, although it is an older property and parts of it feel dated compared with newer luxury resorts. That said, it is well maintained and has charm. We booked connected family rooms and found this very convenient, with decent room sizes and a comfortable setup for families. One of the positives was room service. There was a good variety of options, delivery was reliable, and the food quality was enjoyable. This made the stay easier, especially with children. Breakfast, however, was more limited than expected for a hotel of this category. The main dining options overall felt a little modest rather than luxurious, and food variety could be improved. The biggest downside during our April stay was the swimming facilities. The outdoor pool water was extremely cold, so almost nobody was using it — adults or children. The spa facilities were adults-only, which meant families with children had very limited alternatives when the weather was cooler. Entertainment and atmosphere were also minimal. The hotel was calm and quiet, but some may find it too quiet, with not much going on during the day or evening. Overall, this hotel is best suited to adults, golfers, couples, or families who mainly want a peaceful base to explore the area rather than a lively resort experience. If warm pools, children’s entertainment, and resort-style facilities are your priority, there may be better options nearby. If you want a comfortable, scenic, relaxed stay in a quality location, it can still be a good choice.
