The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa

My boyfriend and I spent a night at this hotel to celebrate my birthday September 30th. It will be remembered as the saddest birthday of my life. We checked in around 5 pm and decided to take a 20 minute walk before having dinner at the hotel restaurant downstairs. I was exhausted after flying and forgot my Rolex watch on the nightstand right by our bed inside the room. The watch was worth over 10K. Needless to say, upon our return my Rolex was gone! We stopped by the front desk to inform the staff. They proceeded to review the security cameras and room door electronic key recordings. A few hours later a manager came to our room admitting one of the cameras clearly showed that I was wearing the watch when I checked in the hotel. However, they were adamant that nobody could have gotten in our room as the only room key that was used to enter and exit the room was our own! Incredible. They offered no apology, no possible explanation as to how my Rolex could have magically disappeared from our room. The following day we went to the police to file a report, it took us several hours. We never heard back from anyone. We noticed the hotel has very few cameras around and it is very easy to jump from one room to the other through the balcony as balconies on the same floor are all connected. We received no apology, not even a word of compassion or empathy from the staff. Beware of this hotel as you are absolutely not safe in those rooms. Also, the staff clearly is all about fake smiles and they cannot care less about your safety and wellbeing.

If you love golf, this would be the perfect place to stay It’s located far from the beach, so not the ideal location if you want accommodation near your typical holiday amenities like restaurants, bars and sand The decor is modern and clean Staff are all helpful and friendly and check in and check out is efficient Rooms are huuuuge, tons of space and all the amenities you need WiFi worked well throughout our stay If you’re fortunate, you get a room facing the sea and courses If, like me, you are not so lucky, you get one facing the road Food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was exceptional The fruit gets a special mention for its amazing freshness and overall quality As a business conference location, it suited our requirements perfectly Can’t comment on its large pool or spa facilities as didn’t take the opportunity to use them Only downside is its distance from anywhere else

This is a lovely hotel… especially if you are looking for great golf, and a bit of luxury at the same time. The hotel is lovely, as are the rooms. The food in the restaurant was excellent, and reasonable, and with a free shuttle bus to Marbella (absolutely nothing near the hotel) you have a choice. The golf was brilliant, 3 9 hole course with B and C especially really fun to play, and great quality. Would deffo recommend this place to anyone looking for some late season sun, and fun!

Very serene and pretty location. Beautiful rooms, extremely clean facility. Hotel staff was very nice. Food in the restaurant at the hotel was delicious. Buffet breakfast was very good on the outside patio. Would certainly come back here again.

Stayed in a deluxe twin queen bed room which was sold as suitable for 4 people. The queen beds were only 150cm wide and not suitable for 2 to share unless they are small children. You could not even have 2 pillows side by side. The hotel did at least provide a rollaway bed for free when I raised this. Our bathroom needed some renovation. Aspects of 5 star service not there eg, no offer to help with bags at check in, no waiter service at pool. The flies at the pool were very irritating. On the plus side, breakfast was excellent and the waiting staff were pleasant and accommodating.
