JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort

My husband and I stayed here for - week in August . We had an amazing time . The beach was beautiful, pools were great and all If the restaurants on site were very good . All of the staff at the restaurants and throughout the hotel were friendly and amazing . The view was beautiful from our room and there was so much to do . It is located in a perfect area and you can walk to everything in the town and the restaurants in the town are all walking distance . I was nervous about going in August but it was so beautiful and people We spoke to actually said it’s not as crowded as July . The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is the rooms do need updating . Not bad just outdated but the resort itself is modern and beautiful and staff was great will definitely be returning !

We have stayed at this resort three times. We had a terrible experience during our last visit, but we decided to give it one more try. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating, and the exterior of the resort is beautiful and well maintained. Unfortunately, the rooms are in serious need of updating. The furniture was old and chipped, and we had to wrestle with the drawers to open them, including the drawer containing the safe. The bathroom door squeaked loudly and was difficult to open and close. The carpet was worn, and I’m not sure when it was last cleaned. These issues may sound minor, but they are the kinds of nuisances I would not expect to encounter at a hotel of the caliber of the JW. I was made aware of the fact that the adult-only rooms were newer and nicer. I can understand that there are reasons for business decisions but I don’t agree that those decisions should negatively impact the experiences had by loyal Marriott clientele. If we return to Marco Island, we will stay at another property. Note: Management reached out to us via email early during our stay. The issues we encountered were not those that could be addressed immediately. These are long-standing issues.

This was my third trip to the JW Marco Island and overall I still love the hotel. I had a beautiful gulf front room in the newer adult tower. We had the private adult pool which was very convenient. We did experience issues on the trip. Requested floors 6 and 7 way in advance and received floor 8, waited for 20 min to get a beer in a very short staffed Kanes. went to the adult private beach but no attendant was present to set up our umbrella and chairs so went back to adult pool instead, tried to luggage assistance on checkout day but no response from front desk. However there was also some great staff. Susan at Aero was amazing and she really made our night fantastic, Skiff at the adult pool goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is satisfied he is tremendous! The ladies at Tesoro breakfast are also outstanding. The hotel needs to make sure they’re not shortstaffed even in the slow season. They also need to improve entertainment like a simple guy playing a guitar in more areas of the hotel and not such for Quinn’s dinner customers would be nice. I love the hotel. I just want it to be perfect. The next time I go!

Everything 5 stars: Dining, atmosphere, beach, pool, fire show, bar/lounge, concierge, location, spa services, rooms, sleep quality, sunset!

I’m SUPER torn on my feelings about this resort… so I’m just going to list my pros and cons : Pros: - beautiful beach & beachfront location - fantastic breakfast buffet selection - plenty of food and bev options - lots to do for kids (pool games, crafts) - walkable to great shelling - very helpful and friendly staff Cons: - crowd giving “Disney World” vibes - huge resort equals lots of walking and everything is spread out …very spread out - lots of kids /crying/screaming - they play the same song on a loop- ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT. It’s literally torture - even the staff hates it. - the rooms are fine. One bathrobe in our room- not impressed. No turn down. Clean , comfortable- they are fine. - the pools are CROWDED and we went in August when it’s “low season” and the ocean was 87 degrees. Would I stay there again? Yes, but if I were attending a wedding or something and I’d probably try the 21 and up side next time.
