Nestled peacefully in the Chinati Mountains, a true West Texas experience awaits at Cíbolo Creek Ranch. Established in 1857, our Big Bend property is equal parts resort lodging and remote getaway.

Cibolo Creek Ranch is neither a hotel nor a resort. This is a B&B where all the bad news is hidden until you arrive. We made reservations for one night – to check it out for a subsequent week stay with 4 adults. We went to Paws Up and Orvis Lodges in the past – thus our expectations. Cibolo send a text asking our arrival time – which was 5:30 to 6:30 as we were driving from Tucson. We called around 5 and said arrival would be around 7:00. The response was “OK then, we will cancel your dinner.” First hidden clue – no food after 6:30 PM. So – with NO DINNER, we stopped at the St. George in Marfa – and had a dinner and texted and said we would arrive around 9:00. The return text said the front desk closes at 6:00 PM. Second clue this is a B&B. When we arrived, finally, there are no lights anywhere. We could barely find the turn off – then up a dirt road for several miles in total blackness. Then the outline of a building – again no lights, not signage, nothing. We walked to what appeared to be a front door and found someone who said “welcome.” They took our luggage to our room. In the room, a notice that everything has a 15% service fee – just because. More hidden info. Third clue. In the morning, we skipped the shower and left as fast as we could. But the pain was not over. We had to lug our heavy wheeled bags through a long parking lot – gravel – like pulling your luggage on a beach. Nobody to help. As we were loading the car, an employee, in almost total darkness, drove past the rear of our car so fast she almost hit us. Fourth clue. This place is NOT a resort. It is NOT a hotel. This is a B&B and a crappy one at that. If you want resort outdoor experiences, check out Paws Up or Orvis Lodges in Montana. And they have no hidden messages. They are fabulous. If you want a Big Bend experience - go to the Gage Hotel, with real food, lights, people to help you and you can drive around Big Bend and see its wonders.

My wife and I spent two very relaxing days at the ranch. We have traveled all over the world and this place is a truly unique one-of-a-kind experience. Everyone on staff was attentive to our needs--check in personnel, wait staff, and activities coordinator. Thank you to everyone in the kitchen who catered to my wife's special dietary needs! Thank you to Lupita and Tony for the warm welcome, Mooney for good conversation and excellent drinks, and Octavio for guiding our activities. There are many others as well that made this such a memorable trip for us, so thank you all! We plan on returning in the not too distant future.

Went for the 4th of July weekend and had the most amazing time! The food was AMAZING, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The sightseeing and hiking, not to mention the rich history of the ranch. It was so relaxing. I cannot wait to go again sometime soon.

My husband and I stayed for two nights. It is a long drive from El Paso, but it was well worth it! We had a wonderful time and found it very relaxing - we were so glad we went. The rooms are very comfortable, the service was top notch and the view from the "lake" was absolutely lovely. I highly recommend a visit to the ranch.
