Essentially this is a sequel to my last review of her sister hotel at Royal Pickering under the same PR Collection umbrella. TLDR, Marina is everything I wished for compared to my last visit to Pickering. PR Marina by itself would have stood out and with the contrasting experience that I had prior, it shines ever brilliantly for her service, spacious room, club lounge spread and services. Details later. Special shout-out to Hailey from discovery reception, Nira, Simon and Adam from the club lounge. Impeccable services and hospitality rendered. We are indulged. Now the details. I had a forgettable experience with Pickering at the end of last year (see my last review). I intend to renew my titanium status for 2027 so I decided on PR Marina as one of my choice stays for 2026 having stayed here in 2021 during the soft launch. Back then, the stay was a mutual discovery experience for both hotel and guest. Then, feedback was taken onboard seriously to optimize service flow and I am happy to see that upon my check in June 2026, separate Discovery reception checked. Piping hot water on tap, checked. It wasn't quite so back in March 2021. The only thing that stayed the same was the lowered water pressure, given national water conservation efforts, this is a non issue. Rooms are old school designs inherited from Marina Mandarin with new overlays. Design language works for me and the toiletries from Apelles, their premium range is excellent. If you like Aesop, you will love Apelles. Both are from down under and the Aussies are exceptional with their local produce and skin products. When I first checked in, I booked without club lounge benefits because I was skeptical, I spoke to Hailey about my prior concerns and disappointments. She took note of it and extended an invitation for me to visit the lounge to see if I would change my mind. We met at 1440, she was on time, punctual and walked us around the lounge. Upon seeing the lovely club lounge 'hut' nestled beside the pool with tinted glass panels, cool temperatures, very decent food spread and a dedicated juice pressing machine, Mrs said yes and we decided to upgrade on the spot. Hailey took care of the admin while Simon and Nira took over hospitality efforts. The rest of the stay since has been the narrative I have come to expect from 5 stars hotel. Feed your guests well, checked. Sleep was restful and room service was prompt. Bed is firm and pillow menu is on point. Breakfast at the lounge was superb. Menu selection is great for the palate. Champagne breakfast if you wish but for Mrs and me, we loved the juice machine. Nira and Adam were superb with their service and attention to details. If you are still reading till this point, thank you and you should go visit them to try out the experience yourself. We will certainly return again.
