Start salivating at the prospect of exploring untouched wilderness in a corner of the world with a landscape all of its own – Bay of Many Coves is a collection of glass-walled, one- to three-bedroom apartments surrounded by water, a short water taxi ride away from Picton Harbour. Experience a natural light show of glowworms in the bush. Hike through forests filled with giant, prehistoric-looking ferns or frolic with a New Zealand fur seal in Queen Charlotte Sound. Design whatever type of holiday you’d like – Pip and Nick Goodhew, the friendly couple that runs Bay of Many Coves, aim to make this five-star resort feel like home.

Literally nothing to find fault with! And complaining is a core skill for me. So many lovely touches (eg actual coffee beans and a grinder in our room), beautiful surroundings, everything done to a very high standard. Thank you Helen, Graham (?), Cal, Bella, and Emily

Truly an amazing experience from start to finish. Helen and Thompson ( chef) were amazing and made our short stay a memorable experience. Our 5 course dinner was like a 3 star Michelin experience. The location is only accessible via helicopter or ferry.. The ferry is a short ride over from Picton and is a beautiful trip. The room was absolutely gorgeous, the views and sounds were spectacular. One of the best places we have stayed at. I would highly recommend.

Fabulous accommodations in absolutely beautiful setting! Employees were all extremely helpful and focused on us having a great time. Food was very good. It is remote and requires a water taxi to reach but once you get there you don’t want to leave!

Idyllic location & staff were lovely, professional and effective, they bent over backward to be helpful. A few negatives - room not completely clean, and aspects of the 1 brm unit were a bit run down. No more than a cursory nod to sustainable practice - disappointing in such a location. Restaurant experience (vegetarian menu) was mediocre - dishes were well executed technically but little flavour (sampled 2 of the 5 degustation dishes then ate snacks in the room instead). Regular heli landings (up to 6+ a day) directly overhead were disruptive. Very overpriced, disappointing for $2K/night, a long awaited break. Marketing themselves as 5 star, but not achieving this.

Did the Heli-Lunch with Wellington Helicopters to this resort. We all enjoyed the fantastic facilities and food. Our hostess Emily was very friendly and very knowledgeable about food and wine. The service was exceptional and the food delicious. This is a fantastic place to visit and just shut off from the rat- race. Would love to visit again.
