Our stay at Bay of Many Coves was the highlight of our recent New Zealand trip. The location is close enough to Picton to be easily reached by water taxi, but far enough to feel a world away. The property offers access to a variety of hiking trails that provide incredible views and a sense of the foliage and wildlife abundant in the Sounds. Our two bedroom cottage had two full bathrooms, a living room with kitchenette (and complimentary mini bar), and a stacked washer/dryer unit that was a great amenity. The view from the deck was beautiful and similar views are to be had from just about anywhere on the property. Friendly staff and well timed and unobtrusive housekeeping only adds to the reasons to return for another visit in the future. The standout experience though was the nightly five course dinner, which was thoughtful in menu and ingredients, well executed, and generally excellent by every metric and would still be considered a top dinner in the middle of Paris or NYC.

Beautiful boutique resort. Water taxi takes to from Picton. Concierge service upon arrival. We had a 1 bedroom unit which was lovely. Private balcony with great views of the water Free self-service guest laundry available Restaurant changes a 5 course menu every night - if you are a fussy eater may be challenging. Hikes available which were challenging due to prior rain - definitely need hiking boots
